Geoff rang the doorbell. He was afraid he might leave some sweat on it, as he was nervous and his hands felt moist. He waited for a few minutes, but the door in front of him remained closed. He was about to ring the doorbell again, when suddenly the door opened, revealing an attractive young man. "Hey, man, sorry I took a while, was writing down some lyrics and wanted to finish my thoughts before getting up," he said. Geoff understood what he meant, saying, "Ah, of course. Don't worry about it, it's cool." He looked at the man's hair, staring at it's beautiful lavender color. His eyes travelled down his face and stopped at his jawline. He swallowed as he admired his perfectly shaped face. "What's wrong?" asked the purple-haired boy. Geoff quickly looked away from him. "Oh, nothing," he said, startled. "Sorry, Awsten." "Alright then, come on in."

The brown-haired boy followed Awsten into his home, his heart racing. Although he's been coming here regularly for years, he can never get used to it. Each time is as if it were the first. They walked into the living room and Awsten sat on his blue sofa. Geoff sat next to him. "So, you almost done packing?" he asks the younger boy. Awsten leans his head back and crosses his arms. He lets out a heavy sigh. "I'm getting there," he replies. "Are you still sure you don't want any help? You know I'd be glad to," asks Geoff. "Yeah, thanks, but I'm fine really. It's still the afternoon and I have until tonight," says Awsten, sitting upright again. "Alright," says the older one in defeat.

The two men sit together in silence for a few minutes, thinking about what's to come. Geoff recalls their past, where they, along with their friend, Otto, had invested so much into a band for several years. However, it ended up not working out as well as they'd hoped, so they decided to end the group. Otto went back to working at his old job at a packaging warehouse, while Geoff was a chef at a local restaurant. Awsten, however, didn't want to give up on his dream of pursuing music as a career. He had spent the last year and a half writing songs and advertising himself on social media and to companies, in hopes of becoming a successful solo artist as his rap persona, Felony Steve.

Last month, Awsten received a surprising but promising request to sign a record deal with a huge record company, which would definitely give his solo career a big push forward. However, he would be required to work full-time in London. He would have to leave his Texas home and work there with the company for at least a year before releasing any music, and then he would be required to almost immediately tour on his future record. Awsten then would have to come back to the studio soon after. There would be little time for decent rest or any personal matters. The company was known for being strict, but they definitely made their artists successful. Awsten knew it would be tough, but this was his dream. He's been wanting the world to hear his songs for so long. His old band didn't work out, but now he finally had his chance, so he made the decision to permanently move to London and pursue his solo career.

Geoff couldn't believe what he had heard when Awsten told him about his decision. They've been best friends for 10 years. They had always done everything together, ever since they met when they formed their old band. Geoff has never forgotten the day they met. Awsten was such a goofball, yet so nice and wise. He never failed to make him laugh or make his day brighter. Geoff liked how they became close so fast and are still best friends now. However, the last 10 years have also been hard for him. Geoff grew feelings for Awsten soon after they became friends, and, to this day, he is still madly in love. He loves his best friend so much, but he knows Awsten has never looked at him that way. But to Geoff, that was fine, as long as he got to spend time with him and see him be happy. But now, Awsten would be leaving.

Geoff retracts his thoughts and turns to Awsten, who was still next to him on the couch. The purple-haired boy had been resting his eyes, as he was tired from packing his belongings all day. Geoff looks at how gentle his hand looks, supporting his head that was leaning to the side, with his elbow on the arm rest. His eyes travel down his body, admiring his figure. Suddenly, Awsten opens his eyes and sits up, and Geoff quickly looks away. "Alright, Geoffy," he says, standing up. "I'm going to put the Minion movie on now. You can go grab the snacks in the meantime." Geoff loves when Awsten calls him "Geoffy." He then gets up and goes to the kitchen, while Awsten reaches for the remote and looks for the movie on Netflix.
