You exited the grand palace, and strolled into the woods. You didn't have to travel far before the gate came into view. It was a simple arch made from two intertwined cherry trees. Most would walk past the arch without a second glance, but you knew better. You placed your hand on the smooth bark, and felt your palm tingle with energy. Slowly the opening between the two trees began to glow white, until the foliage through the arch was no longer visible. It was one of the innumerable power spots that served as gateways for the gods. They crisscrossed the land. There was one at every shrine and temple across the land.

You stepped through the veil of white light, and emerged in a world just as bright. It was a bright white world, filled with pillars of light that represented each of the gateways. You walked through the blank land, trudging carefully across the soft ground. One false step into a gap or seam could send you plummeting back down into the underworld. You walked for what felt like minutes, but in the real world would amount to over an hour. In this realm between worlds time traveled twice as fast. By time you reached your destination, Nanami and Tomoe would arrive back at the shrine.

You stopped in a blank area, devoid of any pillars of light. You crouched, and placed your hand on the spongy ground. "I hate this part." You sighed, as you poured your energy into the ground. As your power permeated the area, a pillar of light shot from below you. The light swallowed you. It was so bright, you could see nothing. When the light finally faded away, and your vision returned to you, you were at the base of a mountain surrounded by cherry trees. You shakily began the ascent up the grass covered mountain. After several minutes, the peak came into view. A pristine stone jutted from the grassy peak. It was made of solid diamond, and etched into the rounded stone was a golden sun. Around the peak of the mountain a snow white dragon curled.

A soft smile spread across your lips as your eyes fell upon the face of the majestic beast. "Are you planning on ignoring me?" You called to the dragon. It didn't so much as move. "Come on! I'd expect the silent treatment from a child, but not you." You mocked the mystical monster.

That got a reaction. It sat up abruptly, its teal blue eyes narrowed into slits as it glowered at you. It released an angry huff, before flicking its long tail at you. You easily jumped over the tail. "Give me a break! You know how tiring this trip is. Let me catch my breath!" You grumbled.

The dragon stopped, and leaned towards you. Its snout brushed softly against your arm, as it sniffed hesitantly at your clothes. It recoiled as a certain smell reached its nose. The dragon eyed you for a moment, before its skin began to ripple. Slowly the dragon shrunk until it was replaced by the form of a white haired boy.

(Like this, but with white hair.)

The boy had an unamused look in his eyes. The dragon boy walked forward, and circled you curiously. You also took a moment to take in his all to familiar appearance. He had a pair of small white horns that stuck from the top of his head (Mini version of the horns of the dragon at the top.) , sharpened canines, and sharp claws that looked like Tomoe's. He was short, and he wasn't built big or bulky. Anyone who looked at him would think he was twelve.
