Alex's phone ticked down with each word he wrote, until he was realized his room was how it'd been when he moved in.
He started another word and saw a calendar across the room with the year before on it. He deleted and went forward. In a fury he typed random letters and hit the space bar, flying back through time. Houses unbuilt before his eyes and trees shrunk and unflowered.
He never realized he hit the last word, so he tapped the space bar again.
And then there was nothing.
