"Alright, there's 2 things I would like to work on with you, Erica." Charles said.

Charles brought me into his Library. Everything was cleared out and the only thing that was in here was a table and a naked manikin. I changed into a gray T-shirt and sweat pants. I had no shoes on. My hair was hanging loosely on my shoulder.

"2 things?" I asked.

"Yes. First thing: Breathing out Ice. Now what is the first thing you do when you breath fire?" Charles asks.

"I just take a deep breath and blow it out." I said.

"How about we try that. But this time instead of blowing, you whistle. Try to freeze the mannequin."

"This isn't going to work." I said.

"Just try. Your letting yourself believe that you can't do this. I believe you can."

I stood in front of the mannequin. I took a deep breath and did a light whistle. And I ended up whistling.

"Use your whole breath at once, Erica. Try again." Charles said.

I took another deep breath, looking at Charles watching me. I looked back at the mannequin and whistle using all the air I inhaled. Ice came blowing out my mouth and onto the mannequin . When I was done I stood back with my mouth open. The whole thing was covered in ice.

"Holy shit." I said. Charles chuckled.

"I knew that you could do it." He said.

"Alright, what's next?" I asked.

"Ah yes, the last thing. I want you to try to make something out of ice."

"That sounds easy."

"Without using water."

"Charles, I take water and turn it into ice."

"No. You shape the water, then you freeze it. I want you to make something using you hands and mind."

"I can't just make ice come from my hands."

"Yet."

I rolled my eyes.

"What do you want me to make?" I asked.

"Anything. Whatever comes to mind."

Charles brought me in front of the table. He cupped my hands together, spacing them away a little so there was room between them.

"Go ahead Erica. Concentrate on what you want to appear."

I looked down. I concentrated on making a butterfly out of ice. Blue light started glowing from my hands. But they went away quickly. I sighed in frustration. I tried again and got little pieces of ice before the light went away again and the melted.

"Keep trying, don't give up."

I wanted to give up. This was hard. I notice someone run past the window. I saw that it was Erik. I watched him as he ran off.

"Erica." Charles says.

"What?" I asked turning to look at Charles.

He had a smile on his face. He looked me in my eyes before casting them down to my hands. I followed his gaze and gasped. A heart made of ice was in the middle of my hands.

"I knew it...you like Erik." He said.

"What?! I don't like Erik." I said.

"Well not like, love would be a better word."

I turned away from him after I shoved him in his arm which made his smile get bigger.

"I don't love Erik." I said.

"Deny it all you want. I know what Erik thinks of you. I know you both care for each other."

"We're friends. We won't be anything more."

"If you say so."

Me and Charles walked out of the Library together.

"We have to keep progressing with this. Just think, you could make your ice creations come to life." Charles said.

"Like what? Living ice sculptures?" I asked.

"Anything you want. We just have to keep working. But we'll need some help."

"From who?"

"Erik."

"What-"

"You seem to be more focused when he's around you."

"Fine. Just don't try to become Charles Xavier the match maker."
