my eyes slowly drift shut, and right away i see the forming of the island i had made a few hours ago.
and here i am. back at the camp fire. though the fire wasn't lit, considering it was morning.
i close my eyes and think of ethan.
"hey sabrina!" i hear from a distance. i turn around and see ethan coming out of the same section of trees that he did the first time. we walk up to each other and right away he has the sweetest smile on his face.
"wanna walk?" i gesture my hands to the shore of the beach. he nods his head and grabs my hand.
"where were you? last night i looked towards the fire to just look at the flames. i looked back over to you, but you weren't there."
last night? okay. so it's just hitting me that time goes by faster and i'm just now realizing that it's actually morning, while in the real world i'm just asleep during the night.
but what do i say? should i tell him it's a dream?
"uh, sorry i um-"
"ohh, did you wake up?"
"what?"
"did you wake up?"
my mouth hung open. so he already knew?
"you know that these are my dreams?"
"yeah, i do." he swipes his hand through his dark hair.
"oh, i.." i don't really know what to say. like oh by the way i created you because i'm desperate.
"it's fine, haha. don't worry. i'm not going anywhere." he tightened his grip on my hand. my stomach ached with butterflies and my heart was in a knot.
"well. now that it's all clear, do you wanna go somewhere cooler? like.. almost like a fairy land or something?" i suggest.
"yeah, totally."
i shut my eyes and thought of the perfect scenario. once my eyes open, i see the most magical place you could ever imagine. mushrooms the size of super old, overgrown trees. they lit up with blues and pinks. the sky had thousands of the clearest stars you'd ever see. lamps lighting up paths, with giant flowers branching over the pathway. everything was rather glittery, but it was very subtle. the grass was actually more of an electric blue. the clouds were periwinkle and everything was alive.
just then, i squeezed ethan's hand, only to feel that it was no longer there. i look to my side and see that ethan is no longer there.
shoot.
"ethan" i yelled multiple times, trying to find wherever he went.
"over here!"
i turn around and i saw him looking at a tree. but it wasn't any tree, it was huge and very healthy. something was glowing from inside the branches.
i ran over to ethan and lightly hit his shoulder, "don't do that" i laughed.
"sorry, haha. but look" he pointed towards the glowing light and then towards little pegs up the side of the tree. i gripped onto them.
"they seem sturdy to me" i shrugged. he nodded in agreement and we started climbing. we got to the entry of the branches and walked between them. the top of the trunk of the tree was enormous, it was a whole platform to walk and stand on. i looked up and saw where the light was coming from.
pixie dust.
"ethan.. this is the exact tree as in tinker bell. oh geez" i looked around and saw a bunch of fairies lined up around the circumference of the truck. but they were our size.
did we shrink?
"uh, hey" i said quietly. i waved to them and they looked kinda excited but also nervous. one walked up to me, she had a pretty dress made out of rose petals and she had velvet red hair.
"hey, i'm-"
"rosetta?"
"oh, right. the movies. okay, there's two things that are different from the movies. first, we aren't animated, haha. second, our names. my actual name is remi." she explained. ethan looked at me and shrugged.
"have you ever watched tinker bell?"
"uh.. i did once for my sister" he shrugged once more. the fairies and i laughed at his boy-ish comments, and we continued talking.
then another fairy flew down. she wore a blue dress and her black hair was slicked back.
"hey. you may know me as silvermist, but my name is actually seraphina." she shook my hand.
"you have the softest hands oh my gosh" i mumbled. she giggled, and then shook ethan's hand as well.
the fairy that would usually be iridessa flew down to me. her yellow dress swayed at her knees as she landed in front of us.
"ivana" she simply said with a smile.
i'm starting to realize that their names do start with the same letter as in the movie.
the fairy who would be vidia, lazily walked over to ethan and i.
"i'm valentina" she yawned.
"her attitude is the same though" ivana whispered with a shared laugh.
"and my name is farah. it's actually pretty close to fawn." her hair actually wasn't in a ponytail braid, in fact it wasn't that long.
"where's-"
"tinker bell? she'll be here in a bit" seraphina smiled, she looked rather excited.
"oh, so her name is really tinker bell?" ethan looked at me and back to all the fairies.
"yea" they all nodded. the rest of the fairies flew down to us.
there's so many.
"we would introduce our names, but what's the point. there's so many of us"
"then why did they introduce themselves" ethan asked. i gave myself a light facepalm and all the fairies quietly chuckled.
"they are the main fairies, think of them as the main characters in a show." i tried to explain, but the look on ethan's face proves he really doesn't understand.
"what's a main fairy?" he whispers.
"just.. just never mind, okay?" a laugh escaped and i looked back to everyone standing out in front of us.
wow. i didn't know my mind was this big.
