i close my eyes, and think hard. when i open them, i say "flowers" and wisp my hand in circular motions, and plump, purple flowers grow from the ground.

"do you like gardening?" i hear ethan's voice behind me.

"yeah. my parents think it's rather.. odd. all i wanna do is plant. they don't care for it, so i take advantage while i'm dreaming and do what i love." i explain as i walk towards him and pull him in for a hug.

"sounds fun" he chuckles.

"it is" i nod.

"i have a great idea" he gasps.

"well what is it" i take a step back and admire the flowers i had just created.

"make me fly" he jumps around excitedly.

"why?"

i knew he'd go off and rant about why he wants to fly and where he wants to go. so while he does that, without his knowledge i think of flying, and all of the sudden we have wings and we are floating in the air. thought he doesn't realize it.

"hey ethan," i cut him off

"yeah?"

"look down." i point to the ground.

he gasps and grabs onto me.

"careful, my wings" i wince as he grabs the core of my wings.

"oh, oh, i'm so sorry" he realized he had grabbed me pretty hard, "wait wings?!" he then turns his head and looks back at his.

"like them?" i bat my eyelashes.

"this is so cool" he grabs his hair in disbelief.

"let's go!" i grab his wrist and pull him as i start flying towards the end of the neighborhood.

"wait wait, where are we going" he starts getting nervous.

"just trust me on this one" i smile.

"wow.." is all ethan can say as we land on top of the famous golden gate bridge of san francisco. it's now night time, and the lights of the bridge and buildings sparkle.

i've always wanted to do this.

"beautiful, right?" i look around in amazement.

"yeah. so relaxing"

"it's everything i've dreamed of."

"you're so lucky" ethan sighs.

"what do you mean?" my eyebrows furrow.

"you can just fall asleep and do whatever you want. i don't know how to lucid dream."

"when we are hanging out and we're awake, i can tell you how to get started. but also, you're always in my dreams. ask anything, i'll make it happen" a sincere smile spreads across both of our faces.

all of the sudden, ethan vanishes. oh, he must've woken up.

i look back to the side, where he was. i notice a slight yellow haze outlining his body, where he last sat before he disappeared.

huh. that's weird. that's never happened.

i shrug it off and decide it's time for me to wake up, since there's nothing to do now anyway.

i squeeze my eyes shut, and when i open them, i'm back in my room. i sat up, my eyes still heavy.

i blink a couple times and look around.

what..

on the edge of my bed, i see a sight golden hue, in the shape of the outline of ethan, that i saw before i woke up. i think for a moment. i start to turn around, but i feel a slight pinch in the upper center of my back.

"ow" i let out a slight cry.

i guess i slept wrong.

eventually, i turn around and look to where i was laying down.

and i see the same outline of where my body was, resting there.

my head starts spinning.

i have to talk to ethan.
