Chapter 2

Ling POV
I was woken up by someone shaking me. "Huh?" I woke up my voice was raspy and I was still sleepy as ever. "Young Lord!! Don't you have a meeting in 30 minute?!" She yells. "Crap!!" I yell as I get up. "Shall I get a maid to help?" She says innocently. "No I'm good, Lan. I'll be right down." I say getting out of my fancy bed. I see her turn a dark shade of red and I realise I'm in my boxers. "Shoot. Sorry Lan!" I say grabbing myself some pants quickly as well as my usual outfit. "S-Sorry m'lord!" She says. "It's ok Lan! You know you could just call me Ling in private." I say to her. "I-I.. Yes young- I mean ling." She says to me. "Oh yes! I brought some breakfast. I'm sorry but it may be bad as I rushed cooking it since most of the maids were off sick today." She says to me handing me a large Xingese (Japanese) style box , morning bento box.

I quickly eat the box as Lan stares at me. "It's great Lan!! I wouldn't mind if you cooked it for me everyday!!" I say. "O-Oh Yes m'lord! I mean Ling!" She says slightly flustered. "Let's hurry!" I say grabbing her hand leaving the room. She places her mask on hastily as we make our way to the  conference room. "I'll gladly wait outside Ling." She says. "Of course." I say kissing my hand before leaving her to the conference room. Luckily there was a hallway I had to walk through.

Urghhh why did I kiss her hand!? What the hell Ling!? That's sooo awkward! Now she feels uncomfortable and now you yourself feel uncomfortable! Great job Ling! Great job! I scold myself as I enter the room. I manage to see many clans including the Chang clan representative and Mei Chang with Alphonse Elric.

I give them a small wave before taking my seat. One of the elders talk first. "So Young Master, what shall you be proposing to claim as soon as you start your reign as emperor over Xing?" He asks. "Well. I've realised many people of lower class are seen as less important despite their amazing efforts in battle or any talents. This would mean that higher ups could never marry anyone below them just because of their status. I proclaim to abolish this law as well as the law stating that the emperor would need to marry each of the clan and produce offspring for each with would result in more bloodshed of our own kind. I know this may go against our tradition yet it is seen as unfair to some clans who wish to marry of their choice yet have already been promised to another man. One of They do not love. If my offspring will have to KILL for power that wouldn't be seen as humane. We should consider these options futhernore as I become emperor. any questions?" I say seriously. "WELL FOR ONE I THINK THIS IS ABSURB! FORBIDING THE TRADITION OF CENTURIES!?" An elder yells. "I on this account think it's an amazing idea!" The heiress of the moon clan, Aria MidnightMoon and her acquaintance Dante NightSlash of a poorer status. "So do I!! I would like to marry of my choice! I don't wanna marry a man I hardly know, love or trust!!" Mei chang replies. "This is all because you have a love one, you don't respect the ancient techniques and you are denying the 50 other clans requesting your offspring!?" Another elder yells just like a few parents of clan daughters.

"Settle down. I'm trying to say is that they have a destiny too. They're going to be future clan leaders yet they also have the right to pick their own partners. I'm not letting my child kill their own brothers or sisters only for power. It isn't right." I say. Some adults give in and sit down like the majority of them.

"And as emperor I'm not only doing this for clan benefits but for everyone on Xing. My people's benefits and rights. Hence the reason of the removal of social status." I say. "Yes. I'm sure my brother has a great reason for this and I strongly agree with him. This wouldn't mean our elders or clans will be disrespected but that everyone will be treated with respect." Mei says. "But Mei darling-" a woman who seems to be the mother. "Not now mother. You know I'm already engaged with 'poorer status' man. Yet he has a huge heart, which should be large enough to help his people and not greed." She says. "B-But!" She says before sighing as she retreated from the argument. "If you excuse me, the meeting should be over by now so me and my accomplices will be heading out." I say as Mei, Al and I head out.
