Chapter 3

Lan Fan POV
I hear my alarm ring. I tiredly turn it off smashing it with my automail arm. Shoot. Anyways I get up and change into my usual clothes (my guard outfit) and I exit my quarters to find the young Lord outside. "Oh apologies young Lord but shouldn't you be at rest or doing your kingly duties?" I ask confused. "Well about that.. I scheduled the entire day for you and I to go out and talk. Have some fun, after all the exhausting work we had to do right?" He says. "But shouldn't you be studying or practising your kingly duties as future emperor?" I ask concerned. "So you don't want to go with me?" He asks his mood saddening. "Just cause I don't show it does mean it's not there...." I murmur blushing slightly. "So you do wanna come!! Cmon Lan! We have an entire day to explore Xing!" He says grinning holding my hand and dragging me out the castle.

"So where are we going?" I ask him. "Yeah sure, but I'd want to see someone first.." He says dragging me to the cemetery as we arrive at grandfather's grave. My mood solemns as I stare at the grave. I drop to my knees. "I-I should have protected him... I should have been there.... I've failed him.." I say through sobs. Young master holds my shoulder embracing me into a hug. "Lan it wasn't your fault... he sacrificed himself in order to save us. He would have been proud of you." He says seriously. I return the hug. "thank you young Lord...." I say quietly, as tears still run down my face. "It's ok Lan, I'm here." He says comforting me. He holds my hand as we leave the graveyard.

"Maybe we should get some food? I'm starving!" He says in a more relaxed tone. "Of course young Lord." I say politely. "Lan call me Ling. Act more relaxed, it's just me now." He says grinning at me. "Ok Ling." I reply. "Over there!!" He says dragging me towards a Xingese cafe. We are welcomed by a elderly man. "Oh hello there. Are you here for a romantic lunch date?" He says. "Oh Uh we... aren't a couple..." Ling say scratching his head again. "Oh really? You seem to be very fond over each other. Maybe I was just imagining things. Do come in!" He says giving us a place to sit. "Wow sure is fancy here.." he says. "Yes but not as fancy as the palace." I reply. "Sureeeee" He says grinning at me. "Oh, yes! Here is the book I promised to lend you. I thought you'd like it after I had read it..." I say. "Oh So were you thinking about me?" He says cockily. "Hmph! Young Lord! That is a scandalous thing to assume!" I say handing him the book while I'm in tsundere mode. "Hahaha your so cute when your mad!" He laughs out. "Whatever..." I reply crossing my arms. Then the waiter comes. "What will you order?" He asks. "I'll have three dumplings, some calamari and a beef noodle soup please." I say. "Well I'll have three noodle soups, ten dumplings, two calamari bowls and some fresh bento please." He says. The waiter stares at him in shock. "O-Of course." He says before rushing to the kitchen.

"So Lan do you ever daydream about me?" Ling says winking at me. "W-Well I-I don't think that is of your concern young Lord!" I say blushing crimson. "Sureeee Lan." He says still grinning. "Whatever Ling!" I say still blushing as I turn away from him. "Cmon Lannn I wanna see your beautiful face~" he says cheekily. I get an idea. "You can't make me!" I spat back. "He then quickly dashed to my side of the table. "Can't I?" He says lifting up my chin. "No you can't." I say pushing his nose. "What? Don't you love me?" He says. I blush at the thought. "N-No... Maybe....I'm not telling you!!" I say nervously and blushing mad. "Oh cmon Lan~" He says cockily. I grab his collar. "You sure you don't want the confident Lan to come?" I say sweetly. "I-I-I Uhhh I..." He says blushing madly and stuttering. "That's what I thought..." I say dropping his collar. Then the waitress comes. "Here is the food. Enjoy!" She says setting our meals down. Me and Ling eat outlet lunch hungrily since we both weren't able to eat breakfast we were starving...

After a decent meal, Ling said he'd pay and take me somewhere special, I'm not sure where though...

Ling POV
We were walking through the streets to get to the more peaceful side of town where there is this beautiful hill where we'd have to climb to and we'd be able to see some of Xing and it's beautiful lights. She didn't know it yet though. I was so excited that I snapped out until I heard a 'oof!' And 'owie!' I see the Moon clan heir, Aria with her acquaintance, Dante NightSlash. "Brother! I didn't expect to see you here. What brings you to this part of town?" She says. "Well..." I say scratching my head nervously as I cheeks taint pink. "Oh I see~ Treating the lucky lady. Ah ok we'll leave you be then. Me and Dante gotta go get some takeaway here then we'll be off." She says. "Cya dude. Good luck." He says as they walk off as Aria holds his arm. I look at Lan as we both turn red from the blushing.

"Let's just go.." I say shyly as I drag her to the hillside. We had to do some climbing to get there and that took some tension off. "Wait here!" I say as I blindfold her with a piece of cloth. "Huh?" She says. "There!"I take the blindfold off.

Lan Fan POV
I see the hillside decorated beautifully with lanterns and a feast for us on a picnic table. A rose in the middle of the table, as the sunset was seen as was the beautiful city of Xing. There was a candle lit dinner right before my eyes.

"L-Ling did you do all of this?" I say covering my mouth amazed at the fact he was able to do this... for me.. "Yup!" He says. "So~" He says turning the music on. "Ling nooooo~" I say to him smiling but blushing. "Ling yessss~ Now Cmon and dance!" He dance with me. The soft Xingese ballroom like music begins. "Fine.." I say. "Ima terrible dance though.." I say as he holds my hand as we begin to dance. "I don't mind. As long as I'm dancing with you, I think I'll live." He says grinning cockily. We begin to dance.

"I love you y'know" He says to me. I look away for a second." But Ling Why.. why did you choose me out of all the others... they were beautiful, and rich unlike a poor status commoner like me..." I say. "Kind. Check. Heroic. Check. Beautiful. Definite check." He says counting. "W-What are you doing?" I ask confused. "I'm staying the things that you are, compared to others your the one I'll always pick. No matter what." He says. He grabs my hand and kneels down. "Lan Fan will you be my empress?" He says. I cover my mouth with my hands as tears swell in my eyes. "Of course!!" I say tackling him with a hug. "Woah! Lan Fan!" He says as we both collapse on the floor. We start to laugh. He surprises me with a kiss. Soft and gentle, minutes to us lasted for hours. We had to pull away for air. "I've waited years for that." I say to him. "Heh I feel the same. We should head back." He says. "Ok Ling." I say kissing his cheek and holding his hand. He turns a slight pink.

"Your cute when your flustered." I say to him as we walk down the hill.
