Crystal Misfits

Chapter Two

As Topaz fell and Alexandrite turned to laugh at them, a bright light had appeared on the portal. In a flash, it was there and within seconds it was gone. Left standing on the portal were four confused gems already in battle stance.

The tallest one was basically as symmetrical as you could get. There was a short, square afro. They wore a star pattern across their (very round) chest and glasses that looked like upside-down triangles. The second tallest was very pointy. Their nose was the first thing Alex had laid her eyes on. Their hair was slicked back into a cone shape and wore what looked like a ballerina outfit. Same star design on the chest.

The third gem was purple. Their outfit was a black tank top, dark grey sweatpants with stars cut out at the knees. The last, but not least, looked completely human. He had a short, curly, afro, wore a red shirt with a star across the chest, and had light blue capris on. He seemed the smallest of the bunch, maybe the "baby".

"Who are you!? What are you doing in here!? How did you get here!?" The second one questioned. 

"Pearl, calm down. They don't look hostile. More confused if anything." The tallest pushed back the second trying not to frighten Alexandrite or Topaz.

"Come on Garnet! Let's mess with them. I wanna know how they got here too. I've never seen them before." The smaller replied. Topaz and Alex looks went from confused to worried. Slowly, Alex placed the wrapper on the counter and back away.

"Can you guys talk? Are you guys gems too? We won't hurt you I promise." The smallest took a step off of the platform which they appeared from.

"Yes, we can talk...uhm...I'm Alexandrite and this is Topaz. What- who are you?" Alexandrite said while slowly making her way to Topaz- who was still on the ground at the bottom of the stairs. The second one scoffed.

"And who are you? I asked first. You're the intruder!" They crossed their arms and huffed.

"I told you. I'm Alexandrite, that's Topaz. Now...Who are you..?"

"Unbelievable. If you think-" They were cut off by the tallest covering their mouth.

"I'm Garnet. This one is Pearl, then Amethyst, and then Steven. We are the-"

"Crystal Gems!!" Finished Steven. Topaz and Alexandrite exchanged glances of confusion. Alex held her hand out to help Topaz up.

"You okay, Topaz?" Alex said. Topaz nodded, rubbing their head.

"I think so, but don't worry about me." They directed their attention towards the group.

"Well, what now...?" Alex asked, shrugging. "Assuming or should say, I'm hoping you don't still want to kick our butts?" Pearl scoffed and dropped her arms to her side.

"Do we look like barbarians?!"

Garnet shook her head. "I imagine you gems are as confused as us, maybe more. Why are you here and how did you get into this house?"

"Uh...that thingy. Big blue circle in the middle." Alex said.

"But how? That's impossible. You aren't...we would have known." Perl mumbled. "You aren't Crystal Gems. How would you have known where our warp pad was? Oh my gosh! They could be Homeworld gems finally here to kill us all!" Pearl questioned in hysteria.

"Ha! Like they could kill us! It's four against two! We'd win easily! Let me at 'em!"

"Enough Amethyst. No one is attacking anyone and that's final." Garnet sighed and shook her head.

"Are you guys from Homeworld? Are you runaways?" Steven asked.

Topaz blinked, "I am, I found Alex here on Earth after my ship crashed..." They paused after the information flooded out of their mouth. They didn't know where it came from, but it felt like actually happened. "I was with others, but I have no idea where they are. But I'm just as confused on how we got here."

Alex sighed. "I was made on Earth. I was supposed to be a royal. I cooked too long and I didn't come out the way Homeworld wanted me. I was an experiment that went wrong and before they could shatter me, I ran."

"Oh...I'm sorry." Steven wiped his eye as a tear rolled down his face.

"It's fine. I got to meet Topaz and we became great friends. Something good came out of it." Alex awkwardly smiled and looked over at Topaz.

"So now what?" Topaz shifted awkwardly.

Chapter two is finally finished! Also, if you notice the profile pic is now changed as well to what we or Sam and Vic (Victoria) look like. Pictures of Alexandrite and Topaz are coming too.

Sam/Topaz is gender fluid/non-binary. Their pronouns are they/them, sorry if you got confused at any point.
