√ Chapter 5. Seeing My Friends Again and Forgetting a Little Detail
The remaining time of the vacation goes by so fast that it's now Monday morning and I'm just lying in my bed, not able to get my lazy ass out from under the warm, soft blankets. I think back about the vacation and start smiling from the new made memories. We've had a lot of fun. Dancing around the Christmas tree, scaring each other and having a movie night after movie night.
Though, I'm a little afraid to go back to school now, because of Jared. I know that he had never noticed me before the incident at the mall and I hope it stays that way. Though, I can't wait until I see my friends again. Lilli was the whole vacation with her grandparents that live in Europe, so I wasn't even able to contact her and Madison or how we like to call her, Maddy, was grounded and wasn't allowed to have her phone with her. Why, you may ask. Well, Maddy is like the bad girl from our group. When she was mad at her parents before the vacation she kind of burned all her stepmothers clothes. She doesn't have the best father-daughter relationship either and having a little brother that is only 3 years old doesn't really help to create a better relationship either.
My brothers don't really like Maddy because of her behavior, but in reality she is a real sweetheart. She's just been through so much already. Though, my brothers do approve of Lilli. She's more like the girly-girl in dresses with long blond hair and always perfect manicured nails and make-up. Her appearance may be like a dumb blond sometimes, but I know that she is far from dumb. She has high grades and just wants to be the perfect daughter to her father and that's working out well so far.
Me and my best friends are pretty feared in school because of my older brothers. When someone only looks at us in the wrong way one of my brothers will find out and beat him, though they would never hit a girl. That's not how they've been raised by our parents. Call it old-school, I don't care. I know some guys don't care if they hit a girl or a boy, but in our family old traditions have always been important. Things like 'Ladies first' or 'Don't hit girls' and the most awkward one of all is what my mother has always said to me 'No sex until you're married'. My brothers agreed with her and I do too. That's one of the only things I can do to honor my mom.
“Alyssa, get up,” I hear Adam screaming.
“I don't wanna,” I mumble and I grab my blanket and pull it up to my chin. Nice and warm, if I could just lay in bed the whole day.
Suddenly the blanket is ripped from my hands and I get shoved out of the bed which causes me to fall on the ground. I look up to see Adam laughing and with a camera in his hand.
“Don't you have enough awkward events filmed from me yet.” I stand up from my lying position and as soon as I stand I started running for the camera. I forgot to mention that those stupid idiots always film everything they do to me. I wouldn't be surprised if they had filmed the last tickle attack too. That was kind of awkward and I hate it that all those videotapes are going to haunt me until I die, maybe even after that.
“No,” he screams back at me, dashing out of my room. I know that I won't beat him with running, but I can always try, can't I?
As soon as I step out of my room arms grab me around my waist and keep me in my place. Blake is standing behind me with a smirk on his face while I'm thrashing in his hold so I can go back to running after Adam before he shows the others and makes a thousand copies of it.
“Blake, you asshole. Let me go,” I scream at him. He just starts laughing at me and I know that I'm not going to win this, but they always say that girls are smarter than boys. Let's test that theory.
