Jonny saw his eyes moisten and swell with tears, but he had not anticipated the anger, uncalled for, bursting in him like a bomb. A silent, but fiery bomb. Angry Guy Berryman was relatively common, but the red Jonny saw in his eyes now was rarely seen, the red of pained, wounded anger.
Jonny had just explained that Chris was back around them. News not taken well. The smaller man stepped closer to Jonny, looking up at him, nose just inches away but looking ready to strangle the latter.
"Do you think this is all a fucking game?" his voice was low, breaking, "Do you know how much it hurt me too?! He was a part of us. A part of us is gone." the words came tumbling louder and louder until he was practically yelling and Will had to put a warning arm on his shoulder.
"Easy, man." the drummer sighed, "you should let Jon talk."
Almost immediately Guy cooled down, a move that only Will could trigger without the risk of the bassist getting even more defensive and aggravated. Will's comforting hand posed on his shoulder was a constant reminder to him of the limits he ought to stick to, no matter how hard he wanted to let loose in anger.
The look of pure murder still lay across his visage while he stared at Jonny.
"Go on." he spat.
Jonny took advantage of the spotlight he was given and proceeded to pour. Pour everything that had happened within the last few hours out. He was scared. Scared that two of brothers he trusted the most would feel that he had gone mad. Scared that they would not believe him. But still, he told them, even with a few tears slowly sliding down his cheeks, which Guy noted, and looking to the space just behind him, where Chris was watching him. His pale face was wrought with anxiety but Jonny's courage was so breathtaking that he could stay put and watch, pride blossoming in his heart.
"... and so ... he's here now." the guitarist gulped and looked up from the floor, to meet the eyes of the other two, holding his breath as he awaited their verdict.
"I ... Jon ... I don't know... really?... Is this true, Jon? Is it?" Doubt was still in Guy's mind, and a sliver of it in Will's, but they were prepared to believe him. Jonny couldn't lie at a time like this, if anyone's heart broke to pieces at the mention of Chris's name, it was him.
"Yes." Jonny softly, his voice cracked a little, but it was clear he was being truthful.
"I believe you." Will firmly nodded.
"So do I." Guy looked down to the ground and almost imperceptibly nodded, then seemed to freak out. The others looked at him confusedly as he suddenly shuddered and jerked his shoulder.
"I felt something cold on my shoulder." he looked worriedly around, and got even more agitated as something cooler than normal brush against his cheek.
"Shit, now my cheek?"
Jonny just looked at the ghost bemusedly.
Chris, what are you doing?
I'm being an idiot as usual, but go on, reveal me.
Sure?
Chris laughed quietly. Just do it Jon, I'm ready.
Yes, of course Sir. Whatever you say Sir.
The ghost stuck his tongue out. Fuck off.
Jonny just smiled smugly, shaking his head at the singer playfully circling the other two like a slalom course. "That's just Chris." he whispered conspiratorially.
Guy widened his eyes. "Oh, god. Is it?"
"It very well is." a deep, familiar voice piped up from behind him, causing him and Will to turn around violently.
