Chapter 18

A week has passed since the lovebirds went for a sudden vacation on Sougo's hometown. They now returned to Yorozuya and was shocked with what they saw.

A white dog welcomed them as they opened the front door. It was barking happily, it's tail wiggling in excitement.

Kagura: Waah~ It's so cute!!!

- Kagura patted its head. The dog then licked her hand.

Gin: Oh, you're here already.. I haven't prepared lunch yet..

- The white perm said, scratching the back of his head.

Kagura: Gin! Where did you get this dog?

Gin: Well, I just saw it on a box downstairs. It seems to be abandoned, so I took it. Why, you don't want it?

Kagura: I want to keep it! It's really cute~

Gin: Okay.. By the way, did you enjoy your vacation?

Kagura: Ofcourse! It was really fun! We even went to a festival~

Gin: I'm glad you enjoyed your trip.

- He then looked at Sougo.

Gin: Thank you for taking care of her.

Sougo: It's my duty as her future husband.

"Oh, as her future husband, huh?"

- A familiar voice startled the lovebirds. They looked towards the front door.

Kagura: A-Aniki?! W-what are you doing here?

Kamui: Well, Sakata-san asked me to buy ingredients for lunch.

Kagura: Huh? Why would you ask him to do that, Gin?

Gin: Oh, I forgot to tell you.. He's staying here for now.

Kagura and Sougo: Ehh??

Gin: Kamui, just put those in the kitchen.

Kamui: Okay~

- The vermillion head then looked at Sougo and bowed his head. Sougo then did the same.

Kagura: Wait, Aniki-

Kamui: Let's talk inside..

~ At the living room..

Kamui: *sigh* I think.. this is the right time for me to tell you everything... Why I left you 10 years ago..

- He then looked down on his feet.

Kamui: When mother fell ill, I decided to look for a job so I could help with our finances.. I was hired by a wealthy businessman, in which father was acquainted to..

Kagura: So you worked as a bodyguard?

Kamui: Not just a bodyguard.. I was hired as an assassin.

~Flash back~

-10 years ago..

Umibozu: What the hell has gone into your mind? *punches Kamui on the face*

- Kamui fell down to the ground.

Kamui: Father, I just... I just wanted to help-

Umibozu: Help?! By taking other people's lives?

Kamui: I'm just doing my job-

- Another punch landed on the kid's face.

Umibozu: Stop this stupidity, Kamui! I did not raise you to be like this..

- Kamui looked down to the ground.

Kamui: It was my choice.. You have nothing to do about it...

Umibozu: Do you think your mom will be happy if she finds out about this?

- Kamui did not utter a word. With clenched fists, he then ran away.

~End of flashback~

Kamui: I don't have the guts to face our mother, and you... That's why I ran away, and continued what I have started.

-Kagura did not utter a word.

Kamui: I know you'll hate me for this.. Go ahead.. Punch me if you want to..

-Kagura stood up and punched Kamui on the face.

Kamui: That's it.. Go ahead and let out all your anger in me-

-Kagura suddenly hugged him. His eyes widened.

Kagura: You're such an idiot, Aniki!  You must have been so lonely for the past 10 years.. I'm sorry if you had to do that for Mommy.. For us..

-Tears ran down through their cheeks.

Kamui: I'm sorry.. Kagura.. I'm really sorry...
