Vexana felt it surge through her like thunder. A tug in her instincts revealed her guess, Alice was dead. She blinked once, twice-- the orbs of her distinct blue and white eyes swirled with sorrow.
Alice had helped her escape Pyreford, she owed Alice her life. She was indebted to her even if Alice was no longer alive.
There was only one way to repay her debts.
Vexana readied her cauldron, the liquid simmered black and green. She dropped the ring of incantation, the roots of Xedra trees, and a strand of her hair into the boiling cauldron.
She let it simmer until hours passed. She casted her deadly spell and slowly resurrected Alice back into the realm.
