3 weeks later:

I glanced down at my food and back to him. He is so gorgeous.

He looked up and saw me staring. The blood started rushing to my cheeks which made him smirk.

I prefer to keep my mind on him than what Michael was doing. Self-centered douche.

I picked up my fork and took a bit of the meager salad before me. Kevin took me to a small little restaurant a few towns over. It was a beautiful little place with a touch of quaintness. It was very calming. It's better than the Olive Garden downtown, we would get a lot of dirty glances. People would love to hear how the school whore cheated on Mr. Perfect with the hot, young teacher. If only they saw through Michael's facade.

“You're considerably quiet. You always have something to say.” I small smile graced my face but returned to it's previous state.

“It's just...I'm a little stressed out I guess. Everything has been happening really fast like with Michael and you and-” He grabbed my hand and gave it a light squeeze. I stopped talking.

“Forget about Michael, he was never good enough for you. Besides, he's just mad that he lost the only girl willing to tolerate him.” I smiled again and he smiled back at me. He gently pulled my hand towards him and softly kissed it.

“How can you put up with all this student. You're dating a student who has issues with an angry ex-boyfriend.” I started stroking his hand with my thumb.

“Well, everyone has issues. I'm a man whose family abandoned him because he decided to become a teacher. Plus I can't help but be attracted to one of my students. You might know her”

“Must be some skank. I heard she gave a guy an STD.”

“You know how old creepy men like me are: we don't care, we just want the sex.” He whispered the last word but said it slowly. I burst out laughing and got a few glares from people at the next table.I looked at Kevin and tried to stop giggling. He was trying not to laugh also.

The waitress arrived at our table and Kevin let go of my hand. He stacked our plates and waited for them to be taken. The waitress flipped her long, blonde hair back and smiled at him.

“Well aren't you nice!” She bent down lower to show off her cleavage. Whore.

“I used to work at a place like this when I was a teenager so I try to be considerate.” She smiled at him and bashed her eyelashes.

“There should be more people like you in the world, but all of you are taken.” She set down our plates and continued flirting with Kevin. Again, whore.

I could feel the jealousy builiding up in me. I know he's probably not interested but he's not phased by her advances at all.

“I know what you mean.” I interjected. “I just glad I snatched this one up. He's so great!” I grabbed his hand and smiled I smiled right at her. Back off he's not interested in you.

Anger flashed through her eyes before she put on a fake smile.

“Well I'll let you guys eat your meal, call me over if you need anything.” She stared right at Kevin. “And I mean anything.” I glared at her as she walked away from the table.

“What was that about?” He raised his eyebrows in confusion.

“Oh nothing..” I let go of his hand and took a sip of my ice tea.

“Oh really now?” He took a sip of his ice tea in the exact same way I did.

'Well...she was a little....” I let my thought trail off. He looked lost for a second but the idea clicked.
