Its been a week. A whole week since he was shot, since he's been awake. And in that week, no word of what happened to Robin has been spoken to the team.

In fact, Red Tornado and Black Canary were the only League members who came to the Cave.

Red Tornado just to make sure they didn't blow anything up and Black Canary to maintain their training schedule. In all that time Red Tornado never spoke and the only communication from Canary's lips were orders.

Everyone knew Black Canary was a tough woman, understatement of the century, so it confused them as to why her eyes were sparkling sadly.

What could have happened? But little did they know how much Robin meant to the whole League. He was the first sidekick and to the League members he was like a nephew.

Finally, on the seventh day, Batman finally made an appearance. Along with everyone's mentors.

They found the team in the common room, everyone doing their normal things. The only one who seemed worried was M'gann and J'onn had a feeling he knew why. The only clue the other members had were the heaps of cookies and brownies lining the kitchen counters.

But to Flash that was also a telltale sign that Wally might actually be worried for the friend he turned on.

The mountains of sweets were completely untouched.

Kaldur was the first to notice the League's appearance and stood up straight, alerting the rest of the team who was here. They quickly followed his example.

The League members all looked at Batman, wondering if they should start talking but then the Dark Night spoke.

"Robin will not be coming back..."

"Well he hasn't been here for a week. Did he quit?" mumbled Connor.

Superman's head turned toward him and he shut up.

Dissaproval from Superman. Ouch.

"No..." continued Batman, his voice was almost like a growl.

"I mean... Robin was shot."

Gasps flew from the team and worst case scenarios ran through their minds.

"What happened? Is he okay?!" blabbed out Wally.

Batman gave Flash a look.

Sure they both had their cowls on but the two friends knew each other well enough.

Barry knew he was saying 'Does your nephew really have a one-track mind?'

Flash just shook his head slightly. They needed to get this over with.

"The bullet was embedded deep and just below his heart. It nearly pierced it. He lost a lot of blood and internal bleeding. We nearly lost him multiple times. And that was before he had surgery."

M'gann was crying now and everyone had fallen back into the couch. Wally hid his face in his hands as silent tears streamed down. He hasn't even said the worst part.

"We were able to remove the bullet but he... flatlined for two minutes. Usually that is beyond saving. But he came back."

"What about now?" murmured Wally.

Batman sighed and Arrow put a hand on his shoulder. He didn't bother to shake him off.

"That's why we're here. You need to see him... but he won't be awake."

"Why not?" asked Kaldur.

This time the Flash finished for him and stunned them all into silence.

"Robin is in a coma."
