The Next Step - Life's Challenges

               Chapter 1: The Accident 

     My name is Michelle, I have been seeing Eldon for a while now and our relationship couldn't be better. I love my boyfriend and he loves me.

    

     We have been spending alot of time together since the studio was closed down for repairs after... the accident.

Flashback

    

     "Alright everyone, places." Miss Kate said.

    

     "We need to get this routine perf..." She was cut off by a loud creaking sound which came from above.

    

     "What's going on with the ceiling?" West asked as if anyone else knew what was going on.

    

     "I dont know" I replied as I clenched onto Eldon. As I look up at him I see his eyes widen, then he starts pointing at something.

    

     "What are you looking at babe?" I ask a little worried to find out.

    

     "That." Eldon replies. I look over and see some dust and debris falling from the ceiling. The cracking gets louder and I see larger pieces of wood fall from the ceiling. The creaking got even louder and even bigger pieces started falling, then I hear James yell.

    

     "EVERYBODY RUN!!!" James yells as he grabs Riley's hand and dashes out of the collapsing studio with her. Eldon does the same with me and everyone else follows.

    

     As soon as we get through the door the building implodes. All of the dancers are watching in horror, I buried my head in Eldon's chest as he held me tight.

    

     After all the noise dies down and everyone is slightly calmer, though some of the girls were still crying, including me, Kate started a quick headcount.

    

     "Wait a minute... WHERE IS EMILY?!" She scream.

    

     "What?! Emily isn't here?!" Hunter asked.

    

     "Oh my God" He panicked and ran back into the building. Chris ran in after him.

    

     "Oh my God!!" Kate screamed. I was panicking, I held Eldon even tighter. I hope nothing bad happens to them, hopefully they find Emily.

    

     It's been about fifteen minutes since Hunter and Chris ran into the studio to look for Emily. I am so worried, I start trembling and shaking. Eldon tries his best to cheer me up and calm me down, he's amazing and it's really sweet but it's not working...

    

     ...five more minutes go by and I start to hear more creaking and then a loud crack. I was about to start crying again until I saw the door open and Chris come out, he held the door for Hunter who was carrying Emily.

    

     "She's alive but shes barley breathing... and her leg... it's broken." He said with a saddened look in his eyes, his voice was shaky, he looked like he was about to break down into tears.

    

     Kate quickly called an ambulance which arrived moments later. The paramedics quickly but carefully put Emily on a stretcher and wheeled her into the ambulance. Hunter rode with her to the hospital.
