I burst through the front door, ran up the stairs two at a time, barreled down the hallway, threw opened my bedroom door, and slammed it closed behind me. I yanked my earbuds out and began to cry again. I'm an emotional wreck. My head touched my knees and I wrapped my head around my head. I wanted to disappear. I wanted to be in a place that I could be happy. Then I got an idea. I shot to my feet and went over to my desk. I brought out a piece of paper and a pen. My mind thought up ideas faster than I could write it down. I put my earbuds in again and I jammed out to 'Relient K' as I worked.

I worked for a good five hours until mom came in and removed my earbuds. I was in the zone. Our eyes met and I looked at her. She apologized for what she said earlier. I paused the music and said that I forgive her. Then I apologized also. I stood up and I hugged her. Mom let go and looked at my desk. I had numerous stacks of papers piled on it. She asked what it was and I told her I was just writing. Mom smiled and led me out of the room and down the hallway. We went downstairs and made our way to the kitchen. When we went in I saw pizza on the table. My mouth watered and I noticed there was a girl around my age sitting at the table. She was covered in dirt and her brown hair and twigs and leaves in them. I looked back at my parents. They both stepped back. I rolled my eyes and looked at the girl

"Um ma'am? Do-do you need anything? There's a bathroom down the hall if you would like to clean yourself up," I told her gently.

She looked at me. She had big brown eyes with tears in them. I felt like I melted. Without knowing it, I bent down and looked her in the eyes and told her I would help her get cleaned up. The girl nodded and we stood up. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and asked her questions. Like what her name was. How old was she. Stuff like that. As we walked up the stairs, she wouldn't answer. I started telling her stuff about myself. When I told her that my name is Adam Young her eyes lit up. I laughed a little. Then I started a conversation about music and if she knows any of my songs. To my surprise she knew everyone of them.

We reached the bathroom and I got the twigs and leaves out of her hair. She then asked if she could take a shower. I nodded my head and got her a towel then went to my room. I sat at my desk and looked at the papers. For some reason I designed an imaginary place. I don't know what to call it yet but I made it up. It's a city where owls and humans live together and their government is an evil group of guys who wants to take it over and I don't know what to call them yet either. It's really cool.

There was a knock on my door a few minuets later. I stood up and opened it. In front of me stood the girl in an over sized tee shirt and sweat pants. She looked nicer. She smiled and we went down stairs into the den. We reached it and sat on the couch.

"So what's your name?" I asked

She glanced down at the ground then looked at me. "I'm Christy Watts. I am twenty-two years old, and I have no friends and I moved here from Texas," Christy told me in a quiet voice.

"Christy. That's a very cool name."

Christy smiled and pushed a strand of hair out of her face. I began to ask her a bunch of questions and Mom came in and said I should stop bombarding her with questions. Then mom told Christy that she could stay with us in the spare room across from mine. She smiled and said that would be nice. Mom went out and came back with two plate that had a slice of pizza them. I completely forgot about dinner!

We ate in silence. A few minuets later we finished and I showed her to her room. I made sure that the bed was made and that she was comfortable. I was about to go out when Christy stopped me and said

"Thank you, Adam. You and your parents have been very kind to me. I will look forward to being your friend."

"You're welcome, Christy. Oh if you need anything feel free to come over and get me," I said.

She nodded her head and walked over to the bed. I turned the light out and smiled. Then I closed the door. I stood there a minuet and collected my thoughts. Then I walked over to my room, went in, got into my PJ's, and crashed onto my bed after I turned the light off. I pulled the covers near me and prayed. Then my eye lids grew heavy and I fell asleep knowing what I would do with Christy tomorrow.
