"Hello Chat Noir."
I turn to see the holder of the tiny, high pitched voice and freeze in my tracks when I see a small, pink and red creature floating in the air. A... Kwamii?
Unknowing what to do, I wave.
The creature giggles. "No need to be so tense. I assume you already know what I am? I asked Plagg to send you."
I blink and try to loosen up as I put away the paper from Plagg. When I try to reply I realize that I didn't really hear the words. "I'm sorry...but, are you ladybug's kwamii?"
She smiles and shrugs. "I can't confirm nor deny right now. But, for the moment I need your help with something."
"Okay." I reply. It's not like I can say no, right? The creature leads me into the familiar walls of Marinette's room and I raise an eyebrow before at it before I look onto the bed and I swear my heart stops. Lying on top of the pink sheets displayed messily, as a sleeping Marinette with her hair covering her face and her hand grabbing hold of a charm I've seen before- because I made it. She looks tense and I frown at the sight. Her room is messier then when I was last here, and I wonder why.
"Why am I-?" I whisper before looking to find the absence of the creature I saw before. Did she seriously ditch me?
"Adrien?"
WHAT? I look down hesitantly and find the blue haired girl clutching onto the pendent in her hand with what seems to be all her strength- her eyes closed.
Did I hear her wrong?
"Don't..." She mumbles. I strain my ears to listen to her faint whining. What's going on?
"Jason... Stop..." She kicks what's left of the sheets off of her legs and the action is so strong and sudden I jump, afraid she might be awake before looking once again at her closed eyes. Did she just say Jason?
"Let him... go..." I watch as she fiddles with the charm I had given her as Adrien and question if I should leave. Standing here doing nothing isn't helping and I don't seem to be capable of helping at all...
A tear streams down her face and she continues to whine. I can't leave her like this, I have to do something... "Mari?" I whisper, smoothing out her hair with my clawed gloves. Her hair feels soft and light against my fingertips, but she doesn't seem to gain consciousness at all. "Marinette..." She stops whining but still twitches and shakes.
"Marinette, Please wake up..." I put my hand over hers, which tightens around the charm.
"Mari...?" I lean in and lightly place a kiss on her forehead and she seizes her whining and her shaking settles for the most part. Huh. The idea comes with pink cheeks and a silent cringe. If this doesn't work it won't look good... But then again, if it doesn't work, it'll be like it never happened... I look at the blue haired girl again and inspect her clinched fist and tense position. It's worth a shot I suppose... I just hope she won't be upset about it... "You're safe Marinette, trust me. You're okay."
I lean down and lightly push the hair out of her face, studying her tensed features and slight tremble of her lip before pressing a kiss to her lips. It's hardly more then a peck and I lean back to see if she's awake. Part of me hopes she isn't because I can feel the heat on my face. I slowly move my gaze up to see large bluebell eyes wide open and pink parted lips a bit below them. I smile faintly and move to a sitting position, my hand still over hers. "Hello there sleeping beauty." I say. She doesn't move and just inspects my face before bringing her hand up to her lips, almost as if she were wondering what was real.
"More like Snow White..." I can tell she's not entirely conscious yet, and I wonder if she'll even remember this in the morning, or if it will be like a dream to her. My attention is brought back to her when she opens her mouth to say something more.
"But I don't remember her having a guardian angel... Adrien..."
