"Maggie?"
Oh, crap.
"Lena, hey. What's up?" I asked, the light flooding my eyes. I dared not look beside of me.
"Why are you in a closet with my boyfriend?" She asked, glaring at the figure next to me. I heard a chuckle, and felt something tighten around my waist.
I would not move. Maybe if I didn't move, then they couldn't see me.
"Explain yourself." Lena growled, looking at James.
"Maggie and I got tired of all the sweaty bodies, when we both just wanted each others." He said. I could literally hear the smirk in his voice.
"Is this true?" Lena asked, looking at me.
Time froze. I got myself into this situation. I needed to get myself out.
"Yes." I replied, giving an apoligetic smile. Lena stomped her feet and gave out a whining scream as she turned around and walked out of the house.
James reached over and closed the door again, turning the small light on.
"You played along?" He asked, a mischevious smile sat on his lips.
Duh.
"That was the point of the game, correct?"
"No." He said, drawing closer to me. I felt my back hit the closet wall. "The point of the game," He whispered in my ear. "Is to win."
I walked out of the closet two seconds later, running my hand through my hair.
"You bitch!" Lena spat, stomping up to me.
I'm sorry, did I ruin your performance?
"Excuse me." I said, stepping around her. She grabbed my arm, her fake nails digging into my skin.
"Don't walk away from me!" She shouted, even though she had dragged me close enough to hear her in a normal voice.
I sighed.
"Do you really want to do this?" I asked her. She looked me up and down, as if sizing me up.
"Let's go." She said coldly, dragging me outside.
On the way out, I saw James. And a girl.
It was weird because time slowed down. All at once, I saw James kissing her and the girl pressing her body against him. He opened his eyes for a split second and saw me.
He saw me being dragged out.
I must have looked so helpless and innocent, but he just looked at me. The blonde stared at him for a second, trying to figure out why he had pulled away from her.
"Come on." Lena growled, throwing the door open. She slammed it behind her loudly and pulled me on to the front lawn of the party.
People started crowding around us, and I knew that they wanted a fight. I adjusted my dress in an orderly fashion and smiled at Lena.
"Hey, we don't have to do this." I told her in a calm voice. She smiled wickedly.
"Yes, we really do. I've wanted to beat you up since day one. You slut!"
"Day one?" I asked with a confused expression.
"Ever since James let you hang on his arm, I knew you would be a problem."
People in the crowds went crazy.
"I wasn't hanging on his arm, Lena. James and I really were just friends at first. I guess he just wasn't...happy." I finished, staring at the ground.
