My best friend had a boyfriend. His name was Grey. He was a senior like me, but Lottie was a junior. When they met, I tried to warn her. I tried to tell her about the many rumors of his sleeping around. I tried to tell her how many girlfriends he's had in one week. I tried to tell her how many girl's he cheats on, and who the girls are.

I didn't know that I would be one of those girls.

"Hey Bex, wait up!"

"What?" I asked, pushing my glasses up on the bridge of my nose. He smirked.

"I have something that I think you would like."

My eyes widened and I grabbed his arm, dragging him to the back of the school.

"You got it?" I asked excitedly.

"Of course I got it. I told you I could, didn't I?" He teased. I clutched his arm.

"But I didn't think you would mean it!"

He laughed.

"Hey, your best friend is my girlfriend. The least I could do is get you a video game before the noobs get a hold of it." He said. I gave him a smile, a real smile. He had become a close asset to Lottie and she forced us to become 'acquaintances'. What I didn't expect, was that we would become better friends than originally planned.

"Come on, I'll drive you to my house and we can play it."

What exactly were we playing?

The one and only limited edition of The Soldier.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I said, grinning.

As we were driving to his house, I got a text from Lottie.

"You aren't with Grey, are you?" I read aloud. Grey glanced at me and shrugged.

Is something wrong? I sent the text and put my feet on the dash.

"Lottie okay?" He asked. I shrugged.

"I don't know, she hasn't texted back yet."

He nodded and focused on the road.

"Did you thank your uncle for me?" I asked. He grinned.

"Yeah, He said it was no problem." He laughed. I raised my eyebrow.

"What's so funny?"

"Well, after I told him what I needed- He kept telling me that we were made for each other." He said, laughing again. "How weird is that?"

I pushed my glasses up. "Yeah, pretty weird."

My phone beeped and I opened the text from Lottie.

"Just making sure he isn't with some hoe." I read aloud. Grey pursed his lips.

"Why is she so attached?" He asked, pulling into his drive.

"She's not." I defended, "She's just paranoid. You did used to sleaze around."

"But I haven't for the past month. Hasn't she learned to trust me by now?" He asked.

"Lottie is Lottie." I said with a shrug. "If checking up on you reassures her then she's going to check  up on you."

He stopped the truck and we stopped at the porch. I waited for Grey to find his keys and stood there. While he went through his set of keys, he asked me another question.

"If she's so paranoid, then why doesn't she freak when we hang out?"

I laughed. "We're best friends. Plus, there's not much of a competition." I said. He looked up and raised his eyebrow. "Oh come on Grey, have you seen Lottie? She's positively gorgeous."
