        That night I dreamt.

~~~
        I blink open my eylids slowly, allowing them to adjust to the sunlight the floods my vision. Upon their stablization, I realize that I am not human. Yet, I feels natural, right. I move my head to look at the ground in front of me, and what I realize is that I have paws, blue-gray paws.
        I must be a wolf, I tell myself inwardly. I rise to my paws, feeling strength suge through my body. This was meant to happen. Tilting my head skyward, I inhale, finding wonderful scents directed at me. A goofy grin spreads across my muzzle. I lower my head and spin around to find a sight that makes me draw in my breath in a sharp inhale.
        A lake spans out in front of me, emptying into a swiftly flowing river. The source of the water is from a waterfall to my left, opposite of the river beggining. Across the lake from my viewpoint is a large treeline, quickly building up to the foothills of  a large mountain range. I seem to be on a plateau, overlooking it all.
        Something sparkles at the edge of my vision. Turning my head to obtain a full sight of whatever was sparkling, I see my necklace my brother had given me. I dart over to it, sniffing it and examining it for any differences from last night. I find nothing perplexing about it. Gently, I grasp the string in my jaws, carefully but griping strongly. Turning my attention back to the breath-taking sight I sprint back over to the plateau.
        Alongside my sight-seeing point, I notice a more stable area of land that leads down to the lake. Picking my way carefully to the area, I begin to decsend towards the lake, my paws leaving prints behind in the soil.
        Once down at the lake, I feel an overwhelming sensation to swim across to the other side of this blue mass of water, to join the forest on the other side. I attempt to smother this urge down, but I am unsuccessful. Griping the string of the necklace more firmly in my jaw, I step into the water, feeling slightly reluctant but greatly pulled to the other side.
        I wade in deeper, the water rising to my elbows, up to my shoulder blades, and finally up to my neck. My paws churn the clear water with great strength, powered by my will to get to the other side. It's about when I am halfway to the far side of the lake when something tugs violently at the bottle-necklace in my jaws. Azure optics widening in surprise by this, my paws flail, and I struggle to regain my grip on the string.
        Stable once more, I fight the thing threatening to rip the necklace away from me, pulling against it and swimming in time. Eventually I begin to feel a bit of fatigue slip into my bones and I loose my grip on the string, watching helplessly dart away from me.
        Immediatly blackness begins to cloud my vision, blotting out a majority of the landscape surrounding me. I whimper in frustration, seeing ovals of the scenary begin to dissipate into the blackness around it. My whimpers rise to frantic yelps, until the darkness takes over fully.
~~~

        I awake with a gasp. Bolting upright, I blink, shaking my head to try and gather myself. My human feataures are back, and I flop back down. My dream left cobwebs of combinations of emotions in my mind, and I slowly move my right hand up to my chest, gripping the bottle firmly in my hands.
