On my return Hicter awakens and stares at me, so I pull out my sofa bed (I have a real one too) and pull Hicter's cot to one side. I adjust the barrier on the side of the cot so that it is level with my bed and place Hicter inside. I wrap my arm around him in a hug, and that is how we fall asleep.
The morning comes around seemingly quickly, and I get up to get Hicter a bottle and to grab me some toast. On my return to the sofa bed, I find that Hicter is now awake and is staring at me. I say to him "Do you want a bottle?" Not expecting a reply, but being met with a smile to lighten up my day. I realise that I need to get my work from college to do, as I can't take Hicter to college with me.
I pick up Hicter and cross the room with his bottle in my other hand. I then put his bottle on the table and pick up my mobile to call the college. I press dial and hold the phone against my ear using my shoulder. I then pick up Hicter's bottle and feed him whilst the phone rings.
'He-llo?' The voice on the other end says. 'Hello Mr Jackson, I'm sorry but I wont be able to make it in for a while.' I hold my breath whilst waiting for that one annoying question, 'why not?'
'I'm not going to bore you with the details right now but basically I have a baby to look after.' The line goes silent for a short time and then a voice continues 'meet me after the class ends, and bring the baby, I want to meet it.' I breathe a sigh of relief. 'In your class room?' I ask. I need to make sure. 'Yes' he says.
By this time Hicter had finished the bottle, and I realised that I should probably change his nappy, so i get out his changing mat, some wipes and a nappy.
After changing Hicter's nappy, I change his clothes too. I dress him in a sweet little vest and an 'I love daddy' jumper and matching blue leggings.
I look up at the clock and realise I have ten minutes to het ready before I have to leave, so I put Hicter back in his cot and go to brush my teeth and grab some clothes. After which I come back and grab my phone, keys, Mr B, baby bag and the man himself - Hicter.
After strapping Hicter into his carseat, I check the pushchair and baby carrier is in the boot and get in the car and drive off to college.
