So I was walking to class as usual when Maria walks up to me.
"Soooooooo?" she asks enthusiastically.
"What?" I ask quietly so I don't upset the teacher.
"Are you pop-u-lar yet?"
"No, Maria. I'm not."

"Um, ok." I slowly back away, but he grabs my wrist.
"Quelle est la course, belle?" he asks.
"Uh, m-my name's Eliza. Not Belle." I stamper.
"Sorry for zat. My....name...est...Lafayette." he sounds out. I can really tell he's struggling.
"Tu sais, you're what America calls the 'hot dweeb' " he says again.
I blush and hurry back to Maria.
"Good job for your first flirt. You should suck his-"
"OK OK I GET IT!!" I scream out of frustration. Everyone looks at me. Maria pulls me out of the room and we start walking down the hall.
"Where are we going?" I ask.
"The mall. Also, screaming in class is one way to get popular." she answers
