She walked down the aisle, her father by her side. It had been a long time since she had last saw him. She was happy to have him by her side on the most important day of her life. She looked up at her husband to be and was met by a warm smile. His eyes bore right into hers and he waved at her. She was smiling like a stray cat but whatever, she knew he loved her more than anything, especially on this day she was becoming his wife forever. She reached for his hand and was met by nothing. He was now staring intently at her and she was feeling confused. His brows were furrowed together and he was now looking at her with disgust and hate. Wet tears started streaming down on her face as she thought about him leaving her at the altar. The father asked him to recite his vows but he refused. The father was surprised and her asked for the rings and her husband to be took them and threw them over the crowd and said:

-I can't marry someone like her. Wake up! He said in a gruffy voice.

Then, everybody present at the wedding screamed at her to wake up.

Instantly theirs faces were replaced by her mother's. She opened her eyes widely and realised she was still in bed. She must have been dreaming. And a bad one at that. It was the first time she had bad dreams in her entire life though. Well, everything has a start. In primary school, she thought she would never pooh in class. Guess what? She ended pooing on her best friend.

-So there is a bunch of police cars in front of my house and three handsome policemen in my living room and I don't have the slightest idea of what they're doing or what they want. Her mother told her. Or do I have to think you did something worth of their attention? Do I have to remind you of what happens when the handsome officers are sent?

She sighed. She couldn't blame her mother. She had been forced to raise her daughter alone because her husband was a fucking dangerous murderer. The day he was arrested, the policemen were handsome –her mother's words, not hers– so that's why she's weary of them and always emphasize 'handsome' when it comes to policemen. Personally, she prefered to follow her father's path but her mother didn't need to know that.

-I didn't..... She started to speak.

She jumped from the bed.

-No no no no she muttered on her way out.

In the living room, three policemen were indeed sitting in the sofa, sipping their tea and eating biscuits. Her mother had probably served those before going upstairs to wake her up. She stopped right in front of them.

-Please don't arrest me because I'm racist.

Her mother stood beside her, a hand over an agape mouth. Had she mentioned that the officers we're now laughing at her? Nope.

-You're racist, we get it. But we're not here for that. The one in the middle spoke. We're here to talk about a certain Myriam. She disappeared last night and she stole something very important to the government.

She remained silent. She had already made a mistake. She didn't want the officers to know that she was racist. But the error was already made. Now she had to make sure the officers doesn't discover what she usually did to skin-coloured people. Who knows? She could end up in a shitty cell. Or worse she could end up in a shitty cell with a lesbian. Aaargh, she didn't want to imagine that. Or much worse, she could never see her mother again. All of this because of a black person. What did she stole anyway? She always knew that black people were professional thieves. They are always copying everything white people do.....

-Selene! Her mother called giving her a slap.

-Yes mother. She answered, a hand over her stinging cheek.

-The officer asked you a question about Myriam.

She blinked three times and asked the officers:

-Who exactly is Myriam?

Hi guys! I hope you're all doing well. I'm warning you already, this scene was all about racism. I know it's a bad thing but I don't want anyone feuding over it in the comments....
