Your name is Karkat Vantas and you don't know who or what possessed you to agree to riding home with Strider.
You found yourself mounting on the bike and pedaling ahead of Dave. Wow you talk to the guy for one day and you're already agreeing to go over to his house.
On the whole ride back, all you heard were Dave's pick up lines and corny jokes. Which, you have to admit, are funny as hell. You don't show it on your face, though. Instead, you angrily shout at him to stop and attempt to push him off of his bike.
There was a very good reason as to why you did this. Actually, no there isn't. You were just blushing a lot and you didn't want the bastard to think you like him or anything. Never show your weak spot.
After what seemed like an infinite amount of time listening to his pick up lines, you two finally arrived at his house. "Thank god. This ride seemed to last for fucking ever." You mutter, getting off of your bike.
Dave just chuckled, also getting off of his bike. He opened the garage door, leading you inside and putting away the bikes for both of you. You just watch, a grumpy look on your face, arms crossed.
"What is it now, kitty kat?" He asked, the nickname making you blush a bit.
You shake your head, making your blush disappear and you look back at him. "Nothing, you blonde haired bastard. This is how my face looks." You replied, looking around, trying to keep your mind off of things.
You were too busy doing that to realize that the tall blonde had already opened the door and gotten inside, gesturing for you to follow and he rounded a corner and disappeared. You shook your head, snapping back to attention as you stepped in, taking a look around.
For a laid back guy he sure keeps his place nice and clean. You curiously walk around the house, not noticing Strider leaning against the wall, arms crossed, a smirk on his face.
"You like the place?" He asked, making you jump. You turn your head, frowning a bit at the teen, but then loosening your frown a bit, a barely even noticeable smile forming.
Crossing your arms, you nodded. "Yeah. It's a hell of a lot better than I thought it'd look." You answered, making your way towards him. "Why am I here anyway?" You raise a brow.
He smiles down at you, shrugging. "Ah well I just thought that maybe we could hang out for a bit. Get to know each other a little better."
You raise a brow, uncrossing your arms and putting your hands on your hips. "What is this, a date? Oh, but Strider you didn't let me get ready." You could tell he rolled his eyes behind those thick shades.
He uncrossed his arms, putting a hand on your chest and gently pushing you as he walked towards the living room. "We're gonna bond over some video games whether you like it or not." You walk backwards as he does so, plopping down on the couch when there was no more floor to back up to.
You watched as the tall blonde walked over to the TV and set up the games, wondering which game he was going to choose first. You then ponder why he wanted to bond with you so badly. What does this kid want from you? To be on top of your death list?
Your thoughts begin to blur as he makes way towards you, controllers in hand. "Take mine, my bro isn't the one to share" He said as he wiggled his controller in front of you.
You raise a brow a bit, taking his controller and then looking back up at him. "Thanks.." He nods and sits beside you as he is choosing a character and setting them up.
You take this chance to really look at him. Analyze or whatever the fuck they teach you in biology. You scan his mouth, nose, eyes. Eyes. You almost let out a growl of frustration. He never takes his shades off, how are you supposed to really see what his face looks like in whole.
You hear your name and snap out of it. "Karkat, you okay there?" He asked as he waved a hand in front of your face and poked your cheek. You frowned and slapped his hand away.
"Don't touch me, Strider." You grumbled. "What is it?"
He holds up his controller and points at the TV. "It's your turn to choose."
"..Oh" You quickly grab your controller and randomly decide. "There. Ya happy now?" You ask, a brow raised as you get ready.
"Never been happier." He answers with a smirk. You sighed and looked at the screen. You quickly look back at him. "What game is this?"
He grinned at this question. Ohhoho he's up to somethin. You are either gonna die or be trapped inside his house forever. "mortal kombat" he answered, before the screen shouted "FIGHT"
You quickly dart eyes towards the screen and see that your ass is getting kicked. In a panicked motion, you started pressing down on all the buttons, making your character punch and kick all over the place.
Dave starts laughing, which you expected. You growl in frustration as character is getting their ass beat. "Hey chill, kitty kat. I can teach ya how to play if you want." He said, a friendly smile on his face.
You didn't want to give in but if you wanted to beat his ass, you better at least know how to punch. You grumble as you set down your controller, giving Dave the indication that yes, you need all he help you can get.
After a few minutes of teaching, you were ready to go. At least, that's what you thought. Well, you can't turn back now. Dave has started the game again and you two clash your characters. Now that you know what you're doing, you find the game to be simpler than you thought. That doesn't mean you were ever going to win the first round. That round was all Dave's.
You watch as he smiles and gets ready for the other round. You knew you weren't going to win, but in the end, you were just kind of happy to be there. Hanging out with one a the cool kids, ya know? Not to mention this bastard's got you blushing.
To your not so surprise, he wins. Again. And again. That's it. You put your controller down and groan. "I'm useless at this game!" He presses pause and looks over at you.
"Given up already?" He asked, a grin on his face. "We can do something else, you know. Go on Netflix, watch some TV, anything you want." You cross your arms as you think about the choices he offered.
"How about Netflix? But before we do anything, can I get something to drink. All my angry shouting made my throat dry." He chuckles and stands up, setting his controller down.
"Ahh but that's your fault, kitty kat." He said as he walked towards the kitchen. You growl, telling him that that's not your name, only getting a "whatever" back. You sigh, leaning back on the couch. You couldn't believe that you we're in Dave Strider's home. You smile a bit as you wait for the blonde teen to come back, letting your thoughts roam free.
