Remember:

If a person is homophobic or transphobic, it's not entirely their fault. Whoever taught them to think the way they think is at fault. Try to help the person open their mind! Not everyone is a lost cause.

Tips:

- Be slow and patient; the person may be confused.
- Respect their opinions, even if you don't agree with them.
- Try to explain what certain terms mean.
- Talk to them multiple times. Just one talk may not help much.
- If they refuse to change, you may have to accept that. You may have to give up. If you can, try to get that person out of your life.

Stay safe and positive!
