I woke up and yawned. I lazily stretched my hand out reaching for my phone. I grabbed it and unlocked it. "Dang Chelsea what even?" I had 22 messages, 18 missed calls, and 11 voicemails, all from Chelsea.
I sighed and decided to at least open some messages and listen to the voicemails.
From Chel: 'I messed up big time. Please text me back!! Xx'
'I'm so sorry!! :'((('
'I feel awful, Meredith.'
'Please reply to my messages I miss talking to you!'
I scowled and opened one of the voicemails, "Hey Meredith, I-I'm so sorry I don't know what I was thinking!" Her voice cracked and she was breathing heavy. I honestly felt terrible.
I rolled over in bed and ignored the other texts and voicemails.
About 15 minutes later, I decided to get out of my bed.
I quickly jumped in the shower and washed. I got out an put on a PINK sweatshirt and some yoga pants.
I hopped down my stairs, and walked into the kitchen. I shrugged getting used to the fact of being alone.
I cooked up some eggs and bacon and ate it. I heard my phone ding so I opened it up and answered the call from Nick.
"Good morning beautiful!" He said cheerfully. "Well you're a morning person, huh?" I asked teasingly. "And I take it you're not?" He asked back. I laughed and said, "Nope, never have never will."
We talked for about 20 minutes and then he said, "Hey um, my moms throwing some kind of cookout later at 3, and I was wondering if you maybe wanted to go?" I smiled and said, "Of course!" "Make sure you bring a bathing suit!!" He said. "Well I'll see you later. Love you Meredith!"
My heart did a million flip-flops and then I said, "I love you too. Bye."
I quickly hopped up seeing it was 2:15. "Shoot!" I said running to the bathroom. I took my hair down from the messy bun and saw it was already dry.
I didn't want to straighten or curl it, because I was going to swim. So, I pulled it to a side braid.
I returned to my room and put on my dark wash shorts, that has lace at the bottom. Next, I put on a cream crop top, that showed my star belly button ring. I slipped on my gladiator sandals.
I checked time to see I have 15 minutes left. I put on foundation and mascara, and grabbed my sunglasses.
I ran downstairs when the doorbell rang. I hurriedly opened the door and closed it behind me. "Wait, who all is going to be there?!" I asked panicking a little as we got into Nick's truck.
He chuckled and said, "My aunts and uncles, and a few of my cousins. Don't worry they'll love you." He kissed the top of my head and I blushed.
My hands were sweaty and shaky the whole car ride. "Meredith, calm down its okay." He said grabbing my hand. I calmed down slightly, but I was still nervous.
We got out of his truck, and Nick immediately wrapped his arm around my waist. I blushed and he chuckled a little. Nick knocked on the door and a women opened it.
"Nick!" The women called. She pulled him in for a hug, as I stood there awkwardly. Nick let go and said, "Aunt Sally, this is Meredith." I smiled and she hugged me.
Nick grabbed my hand as we walked through the front door. He made sure he introduced everyone, and I could barely keep up.
"Go get changed so we can swim?" Nick asked. I nodded and he guided me to his bathroom. I grabbed my teal bikini and slipped it on.
