Aria's POV

Tonight's the night I'm meeting Jon for the first time in years and to say that I was nervous was a simplification. The whole gang was now in the restaurant, we're just waiting for Jon and the rest of his family to arrive now.

"Are you okay?" Alex smirks as he sees me spacing out for the millionth time in the past half hour we were waiting.

I gulp, "Nope."

"Well look at six o'clock." He says, chucking his head at my back.

I freeze for a moment as my head implies what he's saying. My eyes widen as I slowly turn around and look at who just entered the restaurant. For a moment, I'm confused. Where was Jon?

The table bursts out laughing behind me. I turn back to them, as I realise Alex was just kidding. I roll my eyes. "Very funny."

"Calm down, girl. I don't get what you're so worried about." Kayla tries to say in between laughs.

"Everyone knows you have to order wine before the actual meal first, Mikey. It's the only way to start a formal date." Megan says, crinkling her nose at her twin's date informality. "No wonder why girls never want a second date with you."

We've been waiting for around forty-five minutes now and Jon's mom has just texted Alex that they were near the restaurant, they were just caught up with traffic. My nerves has calmed down now since we were already on our second glass of wine. For some reason, we started talking about Mikey's dating life to humour us.

"Aria!" Alex says, catching my attention. "Now would be a good idea to turn around."

I smirk, "Nice try, Alex but that's not working on me this time around."

As I finish my sentence, everyone looks at the back of me, weird expressions on their faces. They looked excited and happy but at the same time awestruck. I rolled my eyes at how immature they were for playing in on Alex's little game. "I can't believe you guys are playing his game."

"What game are you guys playing?" A familiar voice says from behind, just right above my ear.

I'm now in awestruck too as I realise who was behind me. I turn around in lightning speed and see a Jon with a smirk on his face, waving his arms around as if it was helping my head process what was going on. When it finally did, I jumped up from my seat, hugging him as a few drops of tears pool around my eyes as I realise who I was finally meeting for the first time in years.

"I'm so happy you're here." He whispers as he hugs me tightly and I bury my head in his neck. It takes us a few minutes to let go but we finally do when Alex whines about wanting to hug him too.

I laugh a little, wiping some tears that slipped off and backing away. I greet Jon's parents and siblings with a hug and ask them how they've been. I've visited them quite a lot over the last three years, checking up on them as if they were my family too. We all take our seats as we finish greeting each other, Jon purposely waiting for me to sit first so he could take the seat beside me, just like the old days. He takes my hand from the table and smiles while looking at it as if he was searching for something.

I remind myself the need to distance myself from him. I was not going to fall for this time around. Especially now that I've got the perfect boyfriend who loves me as much as I love him. Plus, Jon was going away again anyways, so what's the point?
