Chapter 4

I walked the halls, looking for room 102. The halls of the school were calm. I walked silently as I recollected about what Luna had said. I was now confused on what she had meant about her brother. I wanted to ask her then, but I felt awkawrd asking. I walked towards a room that had the number 102. I opened the door quickly and strolled into class like nothing.I felt people stare at me as I sat in the back with sky and Jay. The teacher gave me a deathly stare as I did him. "How did it go? Does she know?" Sky asked me. "No, and we cant tell her, shes already understanding," I said while tearing a piece of paper from Jays notebook. "Come on that's mine, I just bought that," Jay said frantically.

"What do you mean no," she asked with an arrogant tone. "I didn't even ask her when I saw Luna. We talked and I didn't understand what she meant." "What?" You're not making any sense at all," she argued. I ignored her and grabbed a pencil out of my pocket. I started writing things on the paper.

Sky watched me and same with Jay. "Why don't you just ask for Lunas birthday," Sky asked. "Wait, you think Lunas your lost sister. That's so stupid you don't even know her," Jay stated. Sky hit him on his shoulder and Jay shrieked making the rest of the class look at us. "Get back to work jerks," Sky yelled. "I feel like this is an investigation or something," Sky chuckled. " Kind of is in a way," I replied. "Have you talked to your parents about the whole sister thing," She said. "No, my dad was drinking and my mom was working," I said while putting my head down.

Sky patted me on the back and said look we need to talk about the Mafia 2.0 gang. "SHHHH... someone might hear," Jay said. I looked back at Sky saying to her, "My fathers meeting them tonight at the bar by Walmart on Tater Street." "Tater Street! That's the worst part of the whole city," Jay announced. "Let's go! I need to find out what happened to my family," She said sternly. "When do we meet? I'm sure I can leave right after school," I said while looking at Jay eat an orange. "Yeah after schools great," she said and looked at Jay in disgust. "Slurp!" Sky quickly slapped the orange out of Jay's hand as he whined.

The bell rang, and I crumbled the piece of paper and put in my pocket. I walked out the door and yelled at Sky that its official. She nodded and walked the opposite way. Jay followed right behind me. "You know I think Sky likes you," he said in a happy voice. "I try and get everyone to like me," I said while rushing through the crowd. "I mean as in a boyfriend an girlfriend way, shes like always SV this and SV that. It quite annoying to be honest, he said as I heard him take a big bite out of an apple. I stopped and stared at him as he munched on the skin of the apple. "You're being ridiculous. Sky and I have known each other since middle school," I said while actually kind of believing it. "I've known her longer. Plus she never lets anyone call her by Sky except you," He stated.

I started walking into class trying to think of an excuse for what Jay said. As I walked in I saw Luna. She sat by the window in the front room. She stared outside as Liam talked to her. I sat next to Jay in the back. "Ehh you kind of look alike," Jay said. "I don't want to think about it," I said and got my black notebook and doodled an orange on the top right. Luna Looked back once and smiled, and that was it. Science was not all that fun we learned the same thing yesterday, and no one said anything. The teacher was old and tired we let him be. The rest of the day went the same. I didn't speak to Luna, and I'm sure Liam stopped that.

When I saw Rose in the 6th period she looked different even trying to speak to her was hard. She stayed completely quiet. I couldn't stop thinking about what would happen tonight with Sky and Jay. I really hoped that Jay wouldn't invite Sam. His red hair gets everyone into a judgemental feel. He's the friendliest person but a little too friendly. Thinking of the plan tonight I felt sorrow for Sky, mostly after her mom had an affair with Roses dad. I feel like our friendship is always going to be different. I despised all the sadness that happened today. I was always the happy energetic one and today felt depressing.

I put my hands in my pocket and felt the crumpled paper. I pulled it out and read Elle. Maybe it was Luna, but thinking it made my eyes sting. I breathed out gloomily waiting for my mom to come. Almost everyone was gone from school. The sky got darker and I decided to call Sky. The call was short and she said 4 words, "I'm on my way."

The wait was about 10 minutes, and Sky pulled up with her dad in a white explorer. I got in the back and put my seatbelt on, and the car smelled like roses. Sky's dad didn't look at me or say hello. I looked in the mirror and saw red eyes. Well, I guess I wouldn't get over my wife cheating on me that quick. The car ride was quiet, and it made me nervous.

Sky's father dropped us off at a burger place that was just a few blocks away from Tater Tot Street. We decided to eat and wait for Jay. After what Jay told me I felt awkward around her. I also felt like she sensed it. She asked me a question and all I said was, "Do you have a crush on me?" I've never felt so awkward in my life. I looked down and she laughed. "Wow! You barely got that now? I've liked you since we meant," She laughed. As I looked at her in shock. I really wanted Jay to walk in I really was praying. Jay did walk in and behind him as Rose, Sam, Liam, and Luna. Great, I thought.

"Why are you so red SV," Jay asked. "Because I told him I liked him," Sky said while smiling at me. "Called it," Jay yelled. "I hope you don't mind, but I wanted to bring a few people with us," Jay said while pointing at Liam and Luna. "Well, I was actually forc-," "SHHH," as Jay interrupted Luna. "Yeah same with me," Liam said. "I'm part of this. If my friends are going on an adventure then so am I. Everyone got up and Sky paid for the food.

We walked to Roses red car and all got in. "Wait. where am I supposed to sit," Jay asked. "Sorry Jay we don't have room," Rose chuckled. "Come on guys," Jay wheeped. Liam was smashed on the car door and Luna and Sky as well. "There! Now shut up for the whole ride," Sky yelled. "PHHhhhh..... Oops, I think I farted," Jay hollered. "NO! Get me out of this car! I'm gonna die," Sky yelled. Great a long rest of the night, I thought to myself.
