Once the party was over, everyone had gone home. Hugo and Garrick stayed behind for a while before going home.
"This birthday has been so much better than last year," Sofia smiled.
"Because everything went right?" Amber asked.
"Because I don't have to worry about living it over and over and over again," Sofia revealed.
"I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, Sofie," Hugo said.
"Time to go, champ," Garrick called.
"Coming, Dad," Hugo called back. He hugged and kissed Sofia again and said, "Happy birthday, Sofie."
"Thanks," Sofia smiled.
Hugo and Garrick got in their coach and rode home.
"It looks like Sofia loved your gift after all," Garrick smiled.
"She sure did," Hugo grinned.
That night, Hugo and Axel were in their jammies, ready for bed.
"So did Sofia like her earrings?" Axel asked.
"Nope, she loved them, and I have the feeling I'll see her wear them every day because she said she's never take them off," Hugo replied.
"That's great to hear," Axel smiled.
Meanwhile in Enchancia Castle, Sofia was dressed in her nightgown, playing with Clover when Tizzy showed up.
"Sofia, how did your birthday go?" Tizzy asked.
"Great, mostly because I don't have to worry about reliving it over and over like last year," Sofia smiled.
"I see you're wearing new earrings," Tizzy noted.
"Hugo gave them to me," Sofia smiled. "They're the same color as my amulet."
Tizzy observed the earrings and Amulet and saw that they were the same color. "Indeed they are," she agreed.
"Who knows, Sof?" Clover asked. "Maybe these jewels are magical."
"I don't know about that," Sofia grinned. "I love these earrings just the way they are." Then she yawned.
"It sounds like it's bedtime," Tizzy smiled. She waved her wand and put Sofia into bed. "Sweet dreams, Sofia."
"Thanks, Tizzy," Sofia smiled. With Clover snuggling with her, she closed her eyes and fell asleep.
Once Sofia was sleeping, Tizzy waved her wand and disappeared.
Today was a great birthday for Sofia. It was definitely happier than last year. Hugo learned a lesson: it didn't really matter what he gave Sofia so long as she loved it. He'd never have to worry about that ever again.
