"Class Dismissed!" Ms. Moretti yelled. I walked out with Colin fumbling behind me, still getting half of his things to fit into his satchel. "So, you do anything for fun? What dorm are you staying in? Do you like the beach?" I purses my lips. He seems to be pretty curious about my personal life and preferences. Weird. "I have a unique idea of fun, my dorm number is for me to know and for you to stop being curious about, and I only like the beach at night. There. Satisfied?" He smiled at me. He must be oblivious to any attempts I'm making to end this chat, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. "Well, what do you mean by unique?" "It's not anything perverted if that's what you're thinking." I narrow my eyes at him. We just met and so far the only thing he's proven to me is that he's way too curious about strangers, and that he never shuts up. He laughed. "Oh C'mon! What do you take me for? Some sort of creep? I'm just interested in what kind of things you find entertaining." The sweet smile on his face looked like it was painted there. "Fine. I enjoy taking pictures, and I like to dabble in computer tech. That's why I'm here." He almost looked surprised. His sea green eyes scanned me up and down about two or three times. "Hm, I could've sworn you'd been an art student. You look like the type." I look down at my dirty dark gray vans, up to my light blue mom jeans, up to my gray tank top and maroon sweater cardigan. I cut my eyes back up to his. "What's that supposed to mean?" He put up his hands defensively. "Woah woah. Calm that pretty head of yours. All I'm saying is you seem like the type to enjoy the fine arts from that way you talk and act. No offense st all. Promise." We made it to the quad. I walk over to a set of steps and sit down. Taking out a can of Redbull from my bag. "Whatever that was supposed to mean, I didn't take offense to it. Only slight annoyance." I take a sip from the can after cracking it open. Colin smiles and runs his fingers through his hair. "Well, I've gotta catch up with my buddy Trev. It was nice getting to see you today!" He brightened, waved, and turned to go to the opposite side of the quad. I groan, wishing he would've done that twenty minutes ago. I take out my phone. Five notifications. Two from the app, two from my mom. Wait. My mom? I immediately disregard the other message and open my mother's. It was a picture of her and Dad with a heart made by one of each of their hands. Under it, her message read "Can't wait to see you on Wednesday! We're picking you up to spend a couple hours with you for lunch before our trip to Ohio. Your father and I have come upon the newest form of-" blah blah blah. Work this. Work that. I wasn't even about to bother reading the rest of her message. I scroll back over to read the other message. It was from Sebastian. "Hey, do you wanna grab some dinner tonight? There's a Greek place not far from the campus. Super cheap." I bite the inner side of my left cheek. I begin typing back when I feel a small tap on my shoulder.
