I wake up in morning, my cheek burning where father hit me last night. I look next to me to see Riley sleeping like an angel. I get off the bed gently so I don't wake him and run to my closet. I pick out my clothes for the day and put them on. I then take my phone off the charger and check the time. It's 7:30 in the morning. I then begin to dial Jades number.
"Hello" I hear Jades voice.
"Hey Jade it's Cat!" I say.
"I know Cat. I have this thing called caller I.D."
"I was wondering if you could give me a ride to school?"
"Aghh! Why can't your brother take you?" I look over at Riley, his face red and he is sleeping like angel.
"He's asleep."
"Well, wake him up!"
"Can you please just take me?" I ask my voice sounding desperate. I can hear Jade sigh on the other side of the phone.
"Fine, be there in 15 minutes."
I hang up the phone. I then walk over to my alarm clock and set it for 8. I then walk over to Riley and run my hand through his hair. I lean over and give him a gentle kiss on the cheek. "I love you, Riley." I then head downstairs.
