Chapter 2- Back to reality

"ANALA, QUICKLY COME HERE!" I yell.

I see James, also known as Mr Brolain, calling us all in for a meeting. Anala and myself run and pounce into our human forms.

"I have come to say that the potion is complete. 30 squared miles of land that is protected from any unwanted visitors, only we can enter and only we can get out. There is an invisible shield, but there's a catch, if any hunters seek our pack or see how we work, they are smart enough to break it, when a hunter comes within 2 meters from the shield the shield tells them to go the other way. Any questions?"

Knowing Anala, she raises her hand and without out a breath asks,

"When are we choosing pack leader?"

"Good question Anala, we will be running the Pack Leader Games in two weeks, all that wants to be pack leader must compete in the following, running, hunting and speed change. Any other questions?"

James looks around only to see Anala's hand raised, again, " Yes Anala" sighing in his voice.

"Well, what difference does pack leader have?" She states with pride in her voice.

"Pack leader, hmm! Well instead of changing into one animal like you all, pack leader gets three, along with the values of leading the pride, meetings and any events that he or she make. Does that answer you question, curious lad?"

Anala nods, and walk off.

After about an hour, Anala looks at me with a grin and states,

"Your gonna win Eliza, think of it your the smartest, fastest, strongest and definitely the fastest shift changing person in the pack, you can beat Tyson and Gabe"

"What ever Anala, I need to train and definitely need to get stronger by far, have you seen Gabe's python muscles?" I state with confidence.

"Why are you doubting yourself Eliza? I definitely think you'll be the best leader." Tahni buts in like always.

Tahni never gets what's in to her, words slip from one ear to the other, she forgets things always.

"Well, I might have a chance but I'm going for a walk, so DONT FOLLOW!"

I walk in an easterly direction, only to find nothing but rocks and trees. It starts to get boring and start going back. I keep walking until I recognise the same rock I saw when I decided to head back, am I lost? It's getting dark and I'm getting scared. I bet they are looking for me back in the camp site. I run and jump into my snow leopard form, the only form I have really. I stop and sniff the air. By the smell of the wind it's about 6:08 in the afternoon. Eight minutes ago they would have started the camp fire. I smell fire about 10 miles south. I run towards the smell until a giant vibration tells me I am out of the barriers of the forest. I am lost for sure and I don't know how to get back. I sit down and curl up in a tiny ball, to prevent myself getting a cold in this freezing autumn air. I close my eyes and try to remember the path I took. I start drifting asleep.

"ELIZA".

"ELIZA".

I lift my head thinking it was one of my friends, but it wasn't, I see no life at all.

"ELIZA".

"ELIZA".

This time I know it's them for sure, I can tell Lily's voice over a stampede of elephants. I look up and see flashes of light hit my eyes and I make a huge roar to let them know I am near. I look up and see their faces.

"Eliza, what are you doing it's 7:36 at night" Anala says.

"You have been gone for 4hours Eliza" Lily also states.

"We have been searching for you for hours now. You had the whole pack worrying". Tahni trembles.

I sit up and realise there is a huge cut down the side of my thighs.

"OWW, I think I cut my leg badly, I can't move it hurts".

I look up to see Tyson standing there, his brown hair flowing in the wind.

"Here, I'll carry her back", he says in the most wonderful voice anyone could have.

He is really going to carry me, all the way back to camp. Ok there are two things on my mind. How did that cut get there and why did Tyson come? Both so interesting and I am going to find them both out.

"Why did you come Tyson?" I say with confidence in my voice.

"Well I felt bad, for when the whole class laughed at you for having a spider on your back, and well I was wondering where you were, I was kinda worried".

"But Tyson, that was nine months ago, not yesterday and you already said sorry". This time I was certain I had won.

"Yes, I apologised but the class didn't, and I guess I was, well, lucky that I happened to be in the surviving classroom, and to be alive with you". He had me hoping for a second but he didn't have me quiet yet.

"Tyson, you have a girlfriend back in New York, she probably is missing you".

"Actually, we broke up the day the chemicals went wacko and she is dead, but we are in Arizona now and I guess I'm happy that I'm in Arizona with you".

Ok now this is making me so confused.

"Can we at least be friends before we get into this, please", I want to say yes, but I want it to be perfect.

"Sure, anything for you Eliza".
