CHAPTER TWO
This is just ridiculous.
The gentleman in suit scratched his forehead out of disbelief as he watched the card with the deceased names burning on his hand. He had seen burning death cards for more than a million times already kaya hindi na ito bago sa kanyang paningin. When he looked at the girl still lying unconscious on the floor, he sighed in frustration. The girl just lost it, he was sure. He already sent the two souls away along with a reaper he summoned because he just can’t leave this woman alone. Masyadong excited. Pano niya ngayon gagawin ang trabaho niya?
He can access her memory. But it would only work if she’s awake. Though the more he thinks about it, the more he was getting confused. The bottom line among all this dipshit is, how can she see him? He was sure Persephone was still under his spell until he saw her talk with the little girl. But it turned out she really can see him. She can see them again.
Even before, the woman had been well, special. She did see him when he saved her from falling off that cliff. And now she has freed herself from the binding of his power, the Great Soul Keeper.
How can that happen?
None of his spell had been broken before. Yes, he couldn’t actually erase memories, he just blocks them. Pero ano ba kasing nangyari?
“Is she dead, Darque?”
His gaze shifted from Persephone to the newcomer. When he laid his eyes on him, he decided to not comment on this guy’s lame polka- dot suit.
“If she’s already dead, you should have seen her soul now. Wag ka ngang bobo. Tsaka ano bang ginagawa mo dito? Hindi ko matandaan na tinawag kita, Ash.”
“May sinundo akong kaluluwa dun sa kabilang kanto. You know my radar is very sensitive with the presence of a keeper. Damang- dama kita eh.”
“She’s Persephone, right? Wow, she’s really pretty,” kumento pa nito bago umaktong napapaisip, “Why do you think she can see you now?”
“You didn’t just arrive now, stop pretending. Kanina ka pa nanunuod. Did you just casted the inconspicuousness spell on me?” Darque asked suspiciously which made Ash grin widely. He didn’t have to answer.
Darque just shrugged his shoulder.
He’ll just postpone his plan of irritating Darque.
Ash just looked around while Darque was quietly sitting on top of the counter who was still deep in thought. He should find out what caused all of this first so he could find the solution. As much as possible, he didn’t want the higher ups to know about this yet. But when he looked at Ash, he realized it wouldn’t take long before the news scatter like wildfire. This guy was just so talkative, it can’t be helped.
