"um, sure. don't see why not." Bram raked a hand through Simon's floppy hair, making it messier than it already was.

they stopped in front of the large freezer doors. Simon shivered.

"there's milk flavors for non-dairy too ?" Bram asked, his eyes scanning the many cartons displayed before him.

"yep. get the sweetened vanilla one. that's my favorite."

"whatever you say, babe."

somehow, Simon didn't cringe at the pet name.

Bram untangled their fingers and stepped forward to open one of the clear doors. just as his hand enclosed around the handle, his eyes widened.

"yo what the hell, almond milk is expensive."

Simon laughed.

"seriously, $4 for half a gallon ?" Bram opened the door and took out the sweetened vanilla Silk milk. Simon watched as the glass door began to fog up.

"we're helping the cows," Simon outstretched his hand holding the basket so Bram could place the carton down. "i think it's worth it."

Bram smiled. how could he not ? "you do realize you eat meat still, right ?"

Simon rolled his eyes and gave him a slight shove. "i'm still trying, okay ?"
