Salem's POV
"Salus..." Cyrel whispered my name as both him and Olivia are gaping at the mansion in awe. Obviously they're quite shocked at how big and beautiful it is.
"...damn, we are so lucky to be adopted this fast. God must be really in our side." he says in tears of joy. I could even feel the sparkles around him. I just looked at him awkwardly.
Mr. Steve looked at me with a kind smile and gestured me to come closer to him."Now, now, child. No need to be shy. From thus day onwards, you're my son now." he pats my head
"Uncle Steve! Uncle Will!" a young man appears suddenly with a cheerful tone. He seems to be a few years older than me, he's about 3 inches taller than me and he's somewhat good looking. He has auburn hair, light skin and sterling gray eyes.
"Hello young Josh." Mr. Steve greeted.
"You seem cheerful Josh, did something good happen?" Mr. Will asks.
"Well, yeah. Just had some fun dealing with some trash." Josh smiled. I notice his eyes narrow and his smile seems to be dark, though no one seems to notice it. This guy, he seems nasty.
Suddenly our eyes met, I quickly looked away out of instinct. Then he looks at the Olivia and Cyrel, hiding behind Mr. Will's back."You guys must be new members of the family. It must be an honour to be adopted by uncle Will, I bet you're glad, aren't you?" Josh approached them. As the two looks at him shyly, Josh reaches out his hand for a handshake. "Nice to meet you. I'm Josh Fitzunberg Bon Viefelt, son of a noble named Keith Bon Viefelt. From now on, you two are my cousins."
"Cousins?" Olivia asked. Then suddenly exclaimed, "Wait... you're the son of the great Keith Bon Viefelt!? As in the third richest noble!?!?"
"Yes. Yes I am." he says proudly. Then he looks at me again. He doesn't say anything but he just keeps staring at me. It was getting awkward for a moment, but he finally approached me.
"Umm... Hi. What's your name?" he asked.
"Salus..." I answered.
"His name is Salus Grey Chavez. He's my son." Mr. Steve says proudly.
"What!? Y-You look nothing alike!!! And since when did you have a son!?" Josh exclaimed.
"Haha, silly. I just adopted him." my new dad chuckled as he begins to rub my head.
"Wow... He's..."
As he was about to finish on what he's going to say, someone suddenly appeared from the door. At first glance I thought he was a villain. But when I saw his eyes, that's when I realised he isn't. Those eyes of his are too kind to be a villain. Half of his hair is leather black and half of his hair is pure white. He has smooth white fair skin and beautiful purple eyes. I say he is around 4 inches taller than me, more built in fact.
"How come he has the physical features of a villain? Is he like me?" I thought.
I look at the man again, I don't know why but I kinda feel sorry for him. The moment I saw this guy named Josh, staring at him with such disgust and hatred, I knew that he's being despised in this city. Maybe not only this city, it might be this whole country. Back in my place, I wasn't despised because I was always wearing my disguise. I lived my life being praised and respected by everyone except for my family. But because of the disguise, my life wasn't actually as worse as this guy. Though I haven't known him that much, I could already tell how rough the life is this man living.
Fate is really cruel sometimes, I was born with the hero features that he wanted to have. While he was born with the villain features that I dreamed and aspired for my entire life. Sigh, this is just so unfair. If only we could switch, our lives would be much more easier.
