========================Kuroo POV.
"Today."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. Do it today."
"Kenma, this is fast are you sure?"
"Kuroo, why do you always ask too many questions. Yes I'm sure. He saw your tattoo. You know what that means? No, obviously, or I wouldn't be explaining. These people know everything about everyone, if you don't think for a second he didn't recognize the tattoo then you have another thing coming. They're going to connect the dots. Knowing who we're dealing with, the chances we will be double crossed are high."
I pondered his words and took into consideration the kind of people we were dealing with and he was right.
"When you give the word I guess..." I spoke uneasily, waiting for the command.
Silence engulfs the area as Kenma seems to asses himself if he is really ready execute this rash plan. His face contorts from one of contemplation, to one of seriousness.
"Go..."
All I can do is nod and agree.
But, I can't help but shake a feeling of hesitation...Akaashi POV.
"Give it to him."
"Hey, I knew we weren't exactly 'friends' with them but this is extremely risky."
"What, do you not trust my judgment? We have the upper hand here and it's either eat or be eaten."
"Of course I trust your judgement, Akaashi, but, it's just-"
He pauses. He walks over the to me and cups my cheeks, and plants a gentle kiss on my forehead.
He gazes into my eyes as if searching for any insecurities or doubts I could possibly have.
"I just don't want anything to happen to you or the rest of us, because you're all I have..." Bokuto whispers (which is a rare occurrence)
I sigh, leaning into his gentle touch, wrapping my arms around his waist and leaning my head into his chest.
"Listen, Bo, nothing will happen I swear. Theoretically, we are getting on the good side of two gangs if Aoba Johsai is working with Karasuno. Then it's just three to one, or that doesn't work, we gracefully bow out and lay low. There's a very small margin of error here. Also, if we're not five feet ahead, we're ten feet behind everyone else."
He engulfed me into a hug. It wasn't a hug of joy and happiness, it was one of desperation and fear. Fear that if he were to let go, I would slip away.
"When you give the word..." he murmured under his breath.
"Hurry, deliver it."
He didn't say anything as he pulled apart. All he did was kiss me on the cheek, and swiftly walked out.
Saying goodbye was too much for him, and I knew. There was something about the finality of saying "goodbye" that scared both of us.
Oikawa POV.
"Interesting..." I mumbled out, rereading the letter in my hand.
"I suppose they intended us to do something about this." I said sarcastically looking up at Iwazumi, who was standing across the room, making a cup of tea.
"Mm." He hummed in response. "My bet is they wanted to save their own skins and not get caught in the crossfire. But, giving this information straight to Karasuno would be too risky. The last thing they want is to screw around with the cats." He thought aloud.
"Interesting analysis." I lazily responded, looking at owl shaped seal adorning the white envelope.
"You know, I am a man of my word, but the thought of just letting this happen is so tempting."
Iwazumi sets a mug on the desk in front of me.
"Oikawa, I really hope you're just thinking out loud because you know whoever takes over isn't going to blame Nekoma, they'll blame us for not preventing it." He says before taking a sip of tea.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm not dumb... just a little twisted. Personally, I think the best solution would be just giving them a heads up. That way I'm doing the minimum amount of work." I purpose.
"Sounds fine to me... although I would still prepare for possible conflict." He agrees hesitantly.
"Oh, Iwa-chan, supportive as ever I see."
All I got in response was an eye roll. We say in a comfortable silence, each lost in our own thoughts. Minutes had past when I decided what would be best.
"I realize I had promised to 'stall' but in my opinion, I believe my side of the arrangement will be completely simply by passing on the information. I don't want us to get too involved in this mess, the dealing in our territory can be dealt with quietly without the help of others. So, I will forward the letter but I find it unnecessary to go beyond that..."
Iwazumi looks at me quietly. His gaze was unreadable, most likely because he was trying to read me as well.
"I'll follow your lead. We... I, trust you." He gets up and plants a kiss on my temple and exits the room, letter in hand.
Kiyoko POV.
"Yachi, listen, this is our way out. I fake my death, you become 'stricken with grief' and leave, we meet up and continue a normal life away from all the crime and death." I exclaim waving the letter from Oikawa around.
"Kiyoko, I can't do this with you! Do you realize what shit you've gotten everyone into. I understand, guilt is force to be reckoned with. Racking the body and mind relentlessly until it becomes too much, none of us here are strangers to the feeling, me included. But, you've started something and we have to finish it."
She said back relatively calmly. I begin to break down."It's all just too much..." I mumble through my tears.
"Look Kiyoko, you want to leave, I'm not stopping you. And I wouldn't rat you out either. But, I can't go with you. I have nowhere to go, and I know no one beyond this gang. I love you, I always will, but if you leave I won't go." She's says with a sigh.
I was overwhelmed and tired of this life. I couldn't continue, maybe if I were to leave now it wouldn't be too late to change.
I stand up and plant a kiss on her forehead and press my forehead against hers.
"I guess this is goodbye, then." I whisper. I feel her body begin to quake as sobs begin to leave her mouth.
"G-goodbye." She says in tears. She says as she pushes me away and walks out.
The large room feels so much bigger now that I know I am completely alone in it. Silence engulfs the room as I wait for Kuroo to come and place an attempt on my life.
