Landon picked me up around noon so that we could go with his friend to get their tattoos. I still hadn't decided if I was getting one myself yet, but part of me was screaming at the chance.
"Are you okay?" He asked as soon as I got into the car. Although we had only hung out one night, he had an uncanny ability to read my emotions, perhaps I was just that transparent. I had nothing to hide.
"Just a bit nervous I guess." I trailed off as he put the car in park and turned off the engine, providing me with his full attention.
"Why?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows in concern.
In all honesty I was nervous about meeting this new guy. Especially since I had been eyeing him up, and also just because he looked like one of those cool guys who doesn't have emotions. I vibe with people who show their emotions and can talk about anything and everything with me. This new guy seemed really closed off, and I was afraid if I said something wrong he would never want to speak to me again. I sighed. "I guess I'm just not the best with new people."
"Don't be ridiculous, you hit it off with me right away, you're extremely easy to talk to." He assured me.
"It's not that, he just seems like kind of a hard ass. Not to be rude or anything, it's just like- ugh I don't know." I looked over at him. "I guess I'm just afraid of being judged."
He chuckled. "Kehlani, you have absolutely nothing to be judged for. You're smart and you're really funny, and not to mention absolutely beautiful."
I smiled at his words. "Thank you, Landon. That means a lot to me."
"Of course, love." He started back up the car and drove a few houses down, parking in the guys driveway. "Just call him Skies, he doesn't really fuck with his real name." He chuckled.
