Three~ Groupchat

I lie on my bed thinking about how I've missed Jide these past years and how I didn't notice I missed him until he came back. He's was my best friend from year 8, right up until we left school. And now, he's a big time youtuber and I'm such a shit friend I didn't even know about it. I roll over onto my stomach after runnng my bony hand across my pale face and plant my face between the pillows and almost drift off to sleep, but I am jerked awake by a sudden notification and flash of light from my phone screen. I groan in annoyance and wait 20 seconds, before rolling over to my phone and checking my messages. It was Jide. He had come up as Jide on my phone, because I used to have his number but I somehow accidentally deleted it when we lost contact...

Jide: Hey, this is simon right?
The message read.
Simon: yeah. U ok?
I replied back as I stared at the screen waiting, eagerly for a reply from JJ
Jide: yeah I'm fine. Just wanted to say, I had loads of fun today man. Hope I can see you again soon. You said you're still friends with Josh and Tobi? Maybe we can go out with them sometime?
Simon: yeah sure
Jide: great. I have some friends too: Vik and Ethan, maybe they can come too?
Simon: sure. Let's all make a groupchat tomorrow and make plans yeah? I'll talk to you then, but I'm real tired man I gotta sleep
Jide: sure bro, talk later yeah?
Simon: yeah.

I smiled as I locked my phone and rolled back into the middle of the bed, stretching my long arms and legs and then closing my ocean coloured eyes and thinking of Jide as I fall into a peaceful sleep. I dream of me and JJ hanging out. It really was the perfect day and I so wanted it to come again soon. If I'm honest, I didn't want Josh or Tobi, or Vik and Ethan there, I just wanted it to be me and JJ. But that would be weird right? Coz...we're not gay. My mind shuts down as my brain goes to sleep but not before a smile sneaks onto my face at the thought of being able to see Jide again soon.

The next day, JJ adds me into a groupchat with Ethan and Vik and tells me to add the others.

Jide added you and 2 others to the chat
Jide: hey Guys
Ethan: hey JJ
Vik: hi
Simon: hi
Jide: Simon, add Josh and Tobi, so we can all discuss plans
Simon added Josh and Tobi to the chat
Tobi: what's all this then
Josh: hello?
Simon: hey josh, Tobi. Remember Jide from birko? I met up with him yesterday and we were thinking we could all go out with him and his friends Ethan and Vik?
Josh: sure I'm down
Tobi: yeah mate, me too
Simon: cool. Ethan, Vik? What about u lot?
Ethan: yep I'll come
Vik: same
Jide: perfect, we're all going. I'll pick up 3 of you, so Ethan, Vik and Simon? And Josh and Tobi, meet us at the bowling alley at 4 yeah?
Josh: sounds good
Tobi: yeah
Ethan: uh huh
Simon: yeah
Vik: great
Simon: well, I'll see you all soon then
