The day before the dance was Jade’s birthday and we planned on having our pre-dance "beauty treatment" as Candy would call it. Jade planned on treating us to a spa and some other girly stores in preparation for the Formal Dance tomorrow. Of course, for this sort of event, boys weren’t allowed, so I had to keep up with texting Gunther… and Dave.

Ever since the storm, my conversations with Dave have gone up from internet memes to "Good night kisses" and "I’m thinking of you"s. We were still just friends regardless of the flirty messages. I couldn’t like Dave. I’m not supposed to. First of all, Dave and I are friends and it’s been fun and safe being just that and also, I’m with Gunther. Even though Gunther isn’t officially my boyfriend, I think it would be more appropriate if I just kept all my attention on one guy. So today, I chose to only talk to Gunther.

I still feel bad about lying to Gunther and not letting him know about the night I had with Dave. Nothing happened between Dave and I but I still feel like I did something bad. To make myself feel better, I tried being honest with Gunther about other things. Gunther has always been honest with me about everything- his drug-dealing, his past, and his wishes. He was honest with me about keeping his promise about quitting the drug business.

Candy, Jade and I met up at Jade’s house where she called up masseuses, manicurists, and beauticians. Jade’s mother is the owner and founder of the Regalle Cosmetics so she had A LOT of connections. Jade lives in a big house. She only lives with her mother and her sister so basically their whole house was pink. Believe it or not, Jade is also the least girly person among us. Her family has sponsors from the biggest fashion labels but Jade remains humble and chooses to dress simply. Candy, on the other hand, would go crazy for all of that, which is why she always lectures Jade about embracing her blessings.

The three of us changed into our bikinis and bath robes and began our massages on the poolside of Jade’s house. This whole thing was too girly for my liking, but nothing isn’t fun when I’m with my friends. While I was having one of those facials and some white cream and slices of cucumbers were on my eyes, my phone rang from the little table beside my bench. I peeked through one of the cucumber slices and it was Gunther calling me.

"Hey, I’ve been texting you.", he said.

"Couldn’t text. I have fruits on my eyes. Don’t ask. What’s up?", I said.

"Just wondering… what color is your dress again? The one you’re wearing tomorrow?", he asked.

"White.", I told him.

"Cool. Guess I’ll see you then!", he hung up.

I put the phone down on the table.

SO CUTE. He just asked you about your dress, am I right?”, Candy said.

"Yeah?", I said.

"I guess you two are gonna be bride and groom tomorrow. Lucky! Brian didn’t even bother asking me.”, Candy said.

When we were done with our faces, the three of us had our nails done- all in the comfort of Jade’s home. Jade’s mom also prepared dinner for us and we sang Happy Birthday for Jade.

Candy and I went home after dinner. I immediately started a video chat with Gunther. It was kind of pathetic how I was forcing myself to think of him, and only him.

"Whoa, new eyebrows?", he said.

"Yeah, one of Jade’s beuticians gave them a little plucking.", I said.

Even through the deteriorating quality of the webcam, Gunther looked just as dreamy.

"Well, you are beautiful.", he said.
