I walk through the hall, running my fingers against the wall. I occasionally stop to look at the pictures decorating the walls. Some are hung up, in groups or lone stars, others are set up on tables or in scrapbooks on the shelves. Most of the pictures are given or taken by friends and family. Only the few special ones taken and made by the occupants of the house.
The pictures rang in size and shape. All featuring a certain group of friends, specifically two people. Some are from when they were younger, in their early teens or even when they were first walking. Others are from when they became adults and went other places besides home. But no matter where or when, they are all together. And in all, they have each other.
I come to a stop, reaching my hand out to lightly graze my finger on the faces of a certain image. The picture is encased in a white and gold frame. The edges are decorated with gold designs that swirl and loop around. It almost looks like magic would if given a color and visual look. There are red rubies implanted within some of the swirls, looking like roses or red flowers on gold vines. The red catches the light in a dazzling look.
Inside the frame, the sun glows from the side, lighting up the trees and grass and two people within. The smiling couple are brightened by the glow of the sun in their white clothing and red rubies. The whitest of them all, the beautiful long yet flowing and fit dress is kindled by the sun's rays. The rose gold that plates the breast area and moves down in vines is warm and enchanting as it spreads and disappears. Scattered across the woman's breasts are designs of roses with rubies and pearls interwoven with the petals and centers.
Her partner is dressed in a tight black suit. It shines an almost dark midnight blue within the sun. On his breast pocket is the design of falling rose gold vines, similar to his woman's. A rose peaks from the pocket. His undershirt is a warm white as his partnering dress. The tie is a ruby red with small scattering of rose gold flowers. In the middle of almost each flower are shining pearls.
The two people that stand within the frame are leaning towards each other. The woman has her hands splayed on his chest as she tilts her head up towards her tall partner. He leans down to meat her, his hands pulling her close by the hips. Together, they rest upon each other forehead to forehead. They look deep into each other's eyes, her's a bright stormy blue and his a deep chocolaty brown. Her blond-gold hair waves down her back as his brown-hazelnut hair splays everywhere.
I'm suddenly pulled form my thoughts as arms wrap themselves around my waist. I freeze up before I realize who the arms belong to. Relaxing back into his embrace, I smile as they lay their head upon my left shoulder. They lightly kiss my neck as we look at the picture with smiles adoring our faces.
"Looking at it again?" His voice is deep and vibrates against my neck, almost causing me to giggle.
"I'll never stop." My answer is the same one I always give. He chuckles and moves his hands lower, cradling the small baby bump. I put my hands over his, interlacing our fingers together. My smile widens as I feel him rub it. "You're obsessed."
"I can't help that I love you being filled with something that I put in you."I gasp at his two meaning sentence. Lightly slapping him I turn around and wrap my arms around his neck.
"You may like it in me, but I can't wait for them to come out. Waiting for what's to come isn't fun." I pout and lay my head on his chest.
"True. But this time just gives us more to look forward to. Plus, when we do have a crying little baby, I won't have time to have my fun with you." He grins and lightly hisses as I slap him again.
"You're horrible."
"I know." With that said, he swoops down and captures my lips with his. I smile into the kiss and pull him closer. He slightly moves his lower body away from the growing bump. I would roll my eyes if I didn't like his protectiveness.
Breaking apart, we lay our foreheads together, just like in our wedding picture. We stay there for a while, staring into the eyes of our lover. I don't realize it immediately, but we are swaying to an imaginary tune. My hips are still in his grasp as we move farther from the table. Laughing, he leads me to our bedroom.
"And, what, might I ask, are we here for?" I smile as he pulls me through our door. He lifts me and plops me on the large king bed. Moving to stand next to me, he captures m lips again and gives me a passionate kiss.
I find myself being pushed into the bed, his large body hovering over mine. His lips don't stop kissing me as they make their way to my neck. He sucks and licks at the exposed skin. I hiss and moan as he gives a harsh suck to my sweet spot. Pulling him back up by his hair, we stare into our partner's eyes again. Smiling, I lean up and kiss him gently. Pulling back, I tell him the one thing I know will never change. The one thing that will on become more.
"I love you."
