The sunlight trickled into the Daniels' house through the white curtains that shielded the window. The light drifted through the thine paine of glass into the fine dining hall that was on the first floor of the house. The house was constructed of wood and fine stone, laid out delicately to make a nice home for Mr. Daniels, his wife and two kids. It was early in the morning, and Eleanor Daniels was awake, against her own will. Ellie was born into a rich family, her father ran a timber company, and her mother was a stay at home mother, who also came from a rich family. Ellie had only really known wealth and luxury. Her mother was well-education, which was fairly rare in this country. Most men got their education as it was believed that they were responsible to care for the family. This morning was unlike any morning, coming from such a proper family, also means Ellie had to act proper as well.

"Elbows off the table Ellie." Ellie's father state. Her father sat at the seat beside her reading the newspaper as Ellie was eating. The young girl reluctantly move her elbows off the table and sighed heavily. "No man would want to marry a young lady with no manners."Her father didn't even bother to lift his head from his reading to look at his daughter. Her father was a tall man, and very build as well, he has dark hair but light skin. He was wearing his work clothes, that consisted of a dress shirt and a coat that was longer in the back. He normally wore a top hat along with his outfit, but he put it on before he left the house.

"But papa... what if I don't want to get married?" She questioned. As soon as she had finished speaking her father put down the paper and stared. The look her father gave her was of complete disgust, as if she had cursed.

"Then how do you expect to make a living?" He glared at her slightly. When his daughter didn't answer, he huffed out and turned his attention back to whatever was on his newspaper. Just then, her mother walked into the dinning area. Her mother was a stunning young woman. She had very fair skin, and the hair upon her head was a gorgeous blonde color. Ellie was lucky enough to gain her mother's looks and hair. Although Ellie got her mother's blonde hair, she had gained very wavy hair from her father.

"Good morning my darlings." Her mother smiled and kissed Ellie's head. "What are you reading my love?" She asked Ellie's fathers as she kissed him on the cheek.

"Oh just some news from President Lincoln and the fight against slavery." He answered. Ellie's mother took her place beside Ellie, and across from her husband and started to eat the food that was placed out before her.

"Oh good, President Lincoln should be able to get something useful done." Her mother commented and her father nodded in agreement. Ellie stared at her food that was on the table and hardly even touched. "John, my dear." Her mother called her husbands attention to her. "Where is our son?" She asked.

Ellie's father thought for a moment then set down the paper he was reading. "He's in town trying to woo the sailor's daughter again." He said in a disinterested tone of voice. Ellie knew vaguely of the woman her brother was in love with. All she really knew is that her father disapproved of the relationship and didn't wish for his son to marry a woman whose father didn't make the same pay as he. Ellie didn't see the point, her brother should be able to marry who he pleases. "You know, Laura, Ellie is almost of age herself." Her father glanced at his only daughter.

"John, she still is very young." Her mother commented. "But i suppose you are correct." Ellie state there and stared at her mother in disbelief. She didn't want to be married off like some of the girls she knew. Luckily, she knew no boy was out for her hand in marriage just yet. "Eleanor, dear, you alright? You hardly touched your food." Her mother stated in a worried tone.

"I'm fine mama, im just not very hungry." She mumbled. He mother felt her forehead and blinked.

"You don't feel warm..." Her mother mumbled.
