I'd live and I'd die for you

Steal the sun from the sky for you

Words can't say what a love can do

I'll be there for you

Chapter Three

"What? No, of course I didn't." Lucy replied unable to look Annie in the eye.

"Oh you totally did."

Lucy knew that feigning innocence was pointless; she couldn't hide anything from Annie for long, so she nodded and took another sip of her coffee.

Annie opened and closed her mouth a few times while she digested what Lucy had just admitted. "You slept with Ian?" she said again.

"Yeah," Lucy replied truthfully a smile forming on her face, "I did."

"What were you thinking? Wait you clearly weren't thinking."

"I knew exactly what I was doing."

"God Luce," Annie replied shaking her head again, "I know you've been crushing on Ian forever, but you're seriously going to throw away what you have with Chris for a drunken mistake? He has a girlfriend for Christ sake."

"It wasn't a drunken mistake." Lucy replied shaking her head.

Annie put her mug down on the kitchen counter, "You said yourself you'd been drinking wine."

"Two glasses," Lucy responded, "over the course of several hours. God Annie we've drunk more than that during an episode of Toddlers Tiaras. It may have lowered our inhibitions slightly then but the following morning and last night we were both definitely clear headed."

"So are you two together now?" Annie asked.

"I don't know." Lucy replied with a shrug, "We haven't talked about it yet."

Annie raised her eyebrows, "You haven't talked about it yet? Seriously Lucy, you're pushing Chris away and you have no idea what's going to happen with you and Ian? Why the hell didn't you talk about it yesterday morning after it happened?"

Lucy smiled slightly, "Because we got distracted and then we were late for work. The studio isn't the best place to talk..."

"Luce, I love you but you're an idiot. You don't even know what Ian is going to do. He's been with his girlfriend a hell of lot longer than you've been with Chris. How do you know he's not going to choose her?"

Lucy bit her bottom lip in an attempt to stop the tears she knew were coming, "I don't," she replied shaking her head slightly, "but regardless of what Ian chooses to do the fact is I cheated on Chris multiple times and I can't pretend like that didn't happen."

Annie nodded, "I have to get to work, but promise me you won't make any decisions without talking to Ian first?"

Lucy smiled at her friend, "Okay, I promise."

Annie kissed Lucy on the cheek, bent down to stroke Jack who was still curled up sleeping in his bed and left.

Lucy refilled her coffee cup and went and sat down on the sofa, she took a big gulp of the warm liquid and sighed.

"What have I done to deserve a call from you this early?" Sarah Harding laughed down her phone as she answered it.

Ian chuckled slightly, "You know you love hearing from your little brother. Are you free this morning?" he asked.

"Yeah, nothing scheduled till this afternoon why?"

"Do you want to do breakfast?"

Sarah frowned slightly, "Sure any reason?"
