Soon, we visited the System Guild once more. This time, we were going to work.

Inside, the boss was observing the outside while her secretary prepared some snacks and drinks. We were let in by the secretary.

Odd.

The only person allowed to open and close the office door is the secretary. Whenever this happens, the boss would always have her back faced towards the entrance. It was as if she was afraid of something.

Don't you find that interesting? Ah, but don't worry about that. We'll find out very soon enough...I have a plan.

"Lord Wall, I'm glad that you made it back here!" She smiled and offered us a seat. "Please, sit and get comfortable. In a short while, we will prepare the binding and transition."

Oh, I know what we are doing, so I should inform you, right? You see, this contract is a special one, made just for us.

We are going to be a host.

Usually, hosts are offered a contract through a system assigned for each soul. Sometimes these contracts can be in the form of paper or be oral. There are times when consent is unnecessary, but these type of situations are not brought up to the surface. Yes, it does seem wrong to be forced to become a host...but some souls and hosts are just needed that much.

As for our current predicament, we are going to be a host that was specifically design for inspecting dimensions. We will not be assigned to go to a dimension on the brink of destruction, nor are we going to fend off villainous or heinous criminals...no...we are just going to different worlds and living one life in each one to observe them.

Consider this as a form of vacation. Besides, we leave the dangerous worlds in turmoil to the regular hosts.

"So, for the first world, you can decide!" The boss beamed a smile and spread out three files," I suggest we start out with something simple. That way, we can work our way out."

Nodding, we examined the first one: a dystopia. For some reason, all the worlds run by terrifying and cool creatures (giants, vampires, etc.) were having no problems! Yet, this world has been taken over by clowns! Bloody (figuratively) clowns! I don't want to go over how this is possible, so I'll just skip this one--and I am not scared of clowns, so don't think I am some coward, okay?

Second had a futuristic setting. This one, in particular, is set where humans have finally created the ultimate virtual reality. Here, dreams become a reality. Any person can travel to different sub-dimensions, such as magic-based worlds, cliché "futuristic" worlds with hovercrafts, BCE and CE worlds. This is all simulations for the human mind.

Last was an ancient, wuxia world. An ancient world set in the past where martial arts is revered and only the strong could survive. This world had lots of elements of ancient China...unfortunately, I am not that knowledgeable of this world. Are you?

"Since we have sent you the copy of all the worlds you will be traveling through, I assume you already have an idea of which one you will go to first?" The boss inched closer to us, a sweet smile glowing on her face. "So? What'll it be?"

Our finger was just about to point to a choice when knocking resounded in the office.

"Who is that?" The boss turned her head to the window, facing away from the door. "Open the door and check who it is."

"Yes, ma'am," the secretary headed over to the door.

"Please, let me," I grinned.

It was finally time to take action! Although you did not help me brainstorm this plan, you are very much apart of it. Thus if there are consequences, then you will have no choice but to endure them with me. Wow! We have such a great friendship, haha!

"Wait! Don't!" The secretary yelled with his hand outstretched to us.

From this yell, the boss impulsively turned to see the commotion.

I grinned as our plan was falling into place. Gripping the door handle, I flicked our wrist and pulled open. The beam of bright light showered over us. Don't worry though, I bit our lip to prevent us from screaming.

However, someone still screamed.

"NOOOO!"

An image flashed passed us. It finally stabilized, and we see that it was the boss!

"You! How...how could you?!" She cried at us. Her nails were digging into the doorframe, holding onto it like a life support. Whatever was outside the door, its force was pulling her body. She was parallel to the ground, her hair whipped around her face before it was also pulled by the force, causing her to yelp. "Nevermind! Gisan, help me!"

"Ah!" The secretary cried. He pushed us away from the door to help her... but that was a mistake.

The moment we let go of the door, we were also pulled towards the exit. Before we left the office, the door slammed shut, causing the boss to let go and get sucked in.

The room was silent once more.

To be honest, I did not think knocking under the table would actually work. I did not think she would mishear the knocking.

"You..." the secretary slowly looked up at us, his eyes were red as were his nose. "Please return until further notice."

With that, he opened the door and the familiar view of a train entered our eyes.
