The next few days that Kyle was in the hospital, he got constant visits from Eric. Every day, sometimes more than once a day, the chubby teen would come in and sit next to him and talk. The two wouldn't really talk about anything in particular; videogames, or thier friends. Kyle would ask what he missed in school and Eric would shrug and tell him he wouldn't know because he didn't really pay attention. The brunette also brought him drawings since he spent a lot of his free time doodling. They were the cutest little drawings of cats that Eric hung up beside Kyle's bed to bring comfort or something along the lines of it. The two spent a lot of time together, but pretty soon it was time for Kyle to finally head home.
Eric wasn't the happiest about that, sure he should of been because the redhead could finally return to school. Though, the brunette liked being here, spending quality alone time with Kyle without someone else getting in the way. Either way, he only acted as if he was thrilled that his friend could come home.
During those last few days that Kyle was in the hospital, Eric only seemed to get better. He started eating again, sleeping properly, and he hadn't felt sick or thrown up a single flower petal. Things were really, honestly, looking up for once. That was... until Kyle came back to school.
It was a Wednesday now, Eric had come to school late because he had another doctor's check up. The first time he went they wanted him to come back a little while later. He was walking down towards where his and Kyle's lockers were, and he smiled when he saw the redhead. At first, he was thrilled his crush was back at school but then he saw a girl walk up to him. It was a new girl that had come a few days before Kyle had went into the hospital, and she giggled before asking to sign his cast and he let her. Eric watched them have a pleasant conversation, feeling that sickness that had been absent for so long.
It was pure jealousy at this point, he felt like someone was going to steal Kyle away. A part of him could only think there wasn't any way the redhead would love him back, he was only thinking irrationally. When the girl turned away and left, Kyle saw Eric, and made brief eye contact before the brunette shuffled to the nearest bathroom. What was he to do? Upon entering, the sickness became worse and he went straight to the stall. It had been so long since this happened, since the chubby teen threw up bloody rose petals. It wasn't much, less than the first time.
Eric gagged quietly, flushing the toilet with a sigh. He froze as the bathroom door opened. He heard the familiar voice of his redheaded friend. "Cartman..? Dude, are you alright?" Kyle stepped into the bathroom, glancing around at the several stalls. "Yeah-" Eric muttered a reply, stepping out of the stall, arms crossed. "I'm fine, I-"
"There's blood on your face.." Kyle stared at him, stepping forward and grabbing a paper towel from the dispenser behind his friend. He used the towel to wipe the blood from around Eric's mouth. "What's going on?" He asked.
The chubby teen shrugged nervously, not wanting to talk about it. Though, if Kyle noticed blood at least the brunette knew he wasn't going crazy. "Nothing, I'm fine.. r-really, Kahl." He replied, stepping towards the door. "I gotta go get my stuff for c-class.." He added, leaving the bathroom. Eric was anxious about getting rejected if Kyle knew why he was like this, if the redhead knew he was Eric's big crush, he might be upset. Though, it wasn't like Kyle would just shrug off this strange behavior, he of course was going to keep asking.
The day went by slowly, and with each hour the brunette only seemed to become more anxious. By the time that lunch rolled around, Eric had been to the bathroom four times. Every time he had thrown up what he normally did, strangely it was only those bloody flower petals. Never food. Now, he shuffled into the cafeteria, head down and hands stuffed into his jacket pockets. He didn't get a lunch, or bring one, though he wasn't really hungry. When Eric saw his four friends at the table he stopped, feeling his heart drop into his stomach. Did he want to sit with them? He swallowed hard when Stan looked up at him with an almost menacing glare. Even though he made up with Kyle, the teen's super best friend was still pissed. He turned, about to walk to an empty table and spend the period doodling alone, when Kyle's emerald eyes met his. He froze, the eye contact seeming to catch him off guard. Before any of his other friends noticed and could call him over, he swiftly walked away, towards the farthest empty table.
