The summer promise

Chapter 1

"This is gonna be the best Summer ever!" I shout, as soon as the bell rang on the last day of school.

My best friend, Harmony, was walking close behind me. "You know it, gurl, we have so many plans this summer! So many promises. We have to make it the best summer!" Harmony said excitedly.

"Yes, hey my mom is here. I'll see you tonight. Be at my house at 6 o'clock sharp!" Harmony smiles and waves goodbye. "See you tonight!" I wave back.

After I told Harmony bye, I started walking home. Suddenly I had a strange feeling that someone was behind me. I suddenly turned around, and feel someone hug me. I looked up at his big, blue eyes, and he kisses me.

It's Xavier, he's my boyfriend, but only the two of us know that. It is sort of a secret that we were dating. It has been a secret for a while.

I feel awful for lying to Harmony, but I knew if she found out she would never forgive me. Xavier is her brother. He is a year older than us.

We started dating a month or so ago. We've been planning to tell Harmony, but I don't think she could take it. Her and Xavier have been through so much together, and she is so protective over him. She doesn't like for him to date anyone, and especially not her best friend.

"Hello, darling. You look beautiful. You ready for this summer?" He smiles, and looks deep into my eyes.

"I sure am. But we have to tell Harmony. I feel awful for keeping this from her." I frown.

"We'll tell her today, I promise." He replies.

Ok. Good. I give him a hug.

"See you tonight!" I say, then I head up the driveway, to my house.
