Chapter Two(Chloe's POV)
Finally after a fifteen minute drive to the center of the borders, our red Cadillac pulls into the clearing between our borders. My eyes widen as they take in the sight of strung up decorations and the many werewolves enjoying themselves by dancing, talking, or sitting and resting. I observe that a small stage for performers has been set up along the edge of the woods and the many rose petals that are currently scattered across the fluffy white snow. I shiver as my door to the car opens, releasing a gust of cool air as I pull my trench coat tighter around myself. From what it looks like to me, some werewolves luckily added a small inside part to Eric and I's party so that some of us that desired to warm up, wouldn't freeze to death.
I quickly shut the door behind me after my parents followed me out of the car as all eyes turn to us. Since Eric is now the new appointed Alpha in the Night Fury pack so him and Tyler rode in a separate car. I blush under all the unwanted attention as my father snakes an arm around my mother's waist. I trail slowly behind them as they walk forward. Surprisingly, the party hasn't yet died down and some people still remain oblivious to the Night Fury's ex-Alpha and ex-Luna of the Night Fury packs' arrival.
"Where's Lilah," I whisper to my mom.
She points out a sleek black Maserati just now pulling into the small parking lot just behind the stage. I quickly excuse myself from my parents and push through the crowd to come face to face with my best friend's gorgeous black car. Not long after I come to a stop by the Maserati, my perky friend leaps out of the car, crushing me in a hug. I chuckle and embrace her trembling body back.
"Damn, it's freezing," she says, her teeth chattering violently.
I laugh at her, "You're an idiot for not bringing a jacket."
She scowls at me, "Well I thought my stupid werewolf genes would be enough to keep me warm."
I drape an arm around her shoulder as we make our way to the small building, her parents trailing behind, "Next time, I suggest you come prepared."
"Ya, think," she huffs as I grin. Sometimes, Lilah amuses me with her melodramatics.
"Chloe, sweetheart, you look lovely tonight," Lilah's mother beams at me and rips me away from Lilah, embracing me in a bone crushing hug.
"So do you," I smile politely, noting how Lilah mostly likely got her looks from her father who has the same hazel eyes, same dark auburn hair, and nose. Although, Lilah did luck out because she managed to get the shape of her full, rosy lips from her mother along with her small nose and pale complexion.
"Ugh, mom," Lilah groans, "Enough with the ogling, can we go inside?"
Lilah's mother glares at her daughter and I almost laugh at how hilarious they both look, "It's not my problem you didn't bring a coat."
"Maybe you're just not responsible enough," her father teases, chiming in as Lilah's gaze darkens.
"I am too," she pouts like a small child as the corners of my mouth lift.
"You're not helping yourself," I whisper in her ear as she sighs and latches onto my arm. She stomps away, dragging me behind her as I stumble and almost trip over my own feet.
"What are you doing," I hiss as she yanks me around the back of the building, "Aren't you cold? I'm pretty sure the warm is in that direction, which in other words is—"
