Sally sat on the bed of her new " home" : a prison. She looked out the small window and saw the mayor talking to the hanging tree." What should we do with her? " the mayor asked. The hanging tree thought a minute." The rightful punishment for murder is death." The hanging tree replied. Sally was shocked. Would they really kill me. I didn't even do anything. The mayor then heard a woman crying in the prison. He went over and spoke to her. " This wouldn't have happened if you had not killed Jack." He said." I DIDN'T KILL JACK!" She yelled. " Lock says you did." The mayor said raising his voice."AND SO YOU BELIEVE HIM?!". The mayor raised an eyebrow then replied,"yes." Sally looked betrayed. Maybe Jack was still alive... lost in the forest.... coming home.... " oh jack... please come back soon" she thought to herself. By now the mayor was talking to the hanging tree again," how are we supposed to kill someone who is already dead?" He asked. " well, we can either undo her stiches or we can cut off her head..." Sally didn't know what to think. Well ... if they kill me then they kill me.... I can't do anything about it. She sighed. Oh well... she thought.
