Welp. Now I know I'm terrible at schedules. Yaaaaaaaaaay. Btw do you say "yaaay" of "yayyy"? I switch it all the time so yeah. Also, as usual, it's super late and so most of this chappie is from memory, sorry. I'll try to watch the actual scene and correct any mistakes I made, and if you could tell me anything, that would really help. Um I should probably get to the story and not spend an hour on this author's note. Please, enjoy :).

Steve shook his head, "No, we're good. Avengers, assemble."

The Avengers fought their way into the Hydra base. Hulk just plain smashing everything while Thor used his hammer to bash his way through, conjuring a bolt of lightning every once in a while. Captain America rode around on a motorcycle using his shield to help himself clear a path. Black Widow used her widow bites, and Hawkeye shot a variety of arrows.

Iron Man flew towards the Hydra base, and when he had the building in his sites, he was blown back.

"S***!" Tony cursed as his suit flickered.

"Language!" Steve yelled back after he heard Tony's profanity.

Tony approached the scepter. He had left his suit behind. Unfortunately, as he approached, he didn't notice the girl silently approaching.

She wore a red jacket along with a short black dress. The girl had brown boots with ripped black knee-high socks.

Her hands hovered around Tony's forehead, and her eyes glowed a bright blood red. His eyes flashed. He turned around in time to see a Chitari monster fly right towards him. Thankfully, it flew right past.

Yet, underneath, on the top of the pile of rubble, lay the Incredible Hulk, letting out one last groan before allowing itself to succumb to the claws of death. Tragically, things only got worse. As Tony's eyes wandered down the pyramid of terror, more horrors came to his gaze.

The fierce Black Widow, splayed out, her unfocused and unseeing eyes staring deep into Tony's soul.

Hawkeye, the one who never misses with blood running down his face while his bow laid broken in two at his feet.

The Mighty Thor, looked as if he was just asleep with his trusty weapon, Mjolnir, at his side.

His childhood idol, the great Captain America, leader of the World's Mightiest Heroes, his best friend (I ship stony but not in this book), Steve Rogers. His unbreakable vibranium shield, torn in two.

He gasped and ran over. He desperately felt his neck for a pulse. His hand only laid there for a second when a hand grabbed his wrist.

Captain America bolted up and gasped out, "You... could've... saved... us." Steve let go of him, and with that, Captain America was dead. Tony stood up and backed away. He gasped for breath.

With wide eyes, he realizes all the limp bodies surrounding him. Everyone he's ever meet, more innocent people he didn't get to save, and right in front of his feet his dear pet Loki. The way he found him first, bleeding out from his chest wound.

He fell to his knees and buried his hands into his hair, tears falling from his face. He heard the whispers of them all, continuing Steve Rogers line...

... Why didn't you do more?

Well, I tweaked his fear a bit, sorry. well, Bye! Sorry, this AN was so short. Bye!
