Welp, this is a bit late. But, whatever. Your chapter has come... Please enjoy:).
Pepper... the only person he loved with all his heart. She was gone. Gone...
Tony was a mess. His eyes were red. His eyes were surrounded by dark circles, and his hair was rumpled and dirty. He holed himself in the lab, and just lived on coffee. He had been working nonstop for more than 72 hours.
He was alone except for Loki to keep him company. He had finished fixing his suit and had upgraded the Avenger's weapons.
Loki was getting worried. He and Jarvis have been trying to help, but nothing has been working so far. He had one last effort.
Loki went to one of Tony's work tables and gently took Tony's phone in between his teeth.
He set it down on the floor, pressed the home button, and typed in the passcode he had seen Tony use many times. He scrolled through Tony's contacts until he found the person he was looking for. Carefully, he used his nose to text him.
TS: Pepper broke up with Tony. He hasn't been taking care of himself and I'm worried about him.
Loki pressed send and waited for a reply.
JR: Who r u?
Loki rolled his eyes.
TS: I'm a friend of Tony's. Now can you get over here? I'm not sure how much longer he's going to last.
JR: OK, I'm coming.
Loki turned the phone off, returned it to the table, and waited.
Suddenly, the ceiling stopped blasting AC/DC music. The lab doors opened to reveal Colonel James Rhodes, AKA Rhodey.
"Hey, Rhodey. What's up?" Tony asked once he realized who it was.
"Nothing much, but you look terrible, Tony! What happened to you?" A concerned expression fixed itself onto Rhodey's face.
Tony opened his mouth to reply, but Jarvis beat him to it, "I'm afraid that 72 hours ago, Miss Pepper Potts broke up with Mr. Stark."
Rhodey smiled up at the ceiling, "Jarvis, when was the last time Tony had a good night sleep and a full meal?"
Tony's eyes widened yet again, but Jarvis quickly responds, "The last time Mr. Stark slept was 90 hours ago for approximately 5 hours, and his last meal excluding coffee was 84 hours ago."
"Remind me to program you to not blurt out that information," Tony grumbled to himself.
"As you wish, Sir."
Before Tony got, distracted, Rhodey intervened, "Tony, are you going to get the food yourself, or do I need to drag you upstairs?"
"I'm fine-"
"Don't give me that BS, Tony."
Tony sighed and reluctantly walked upstairs. He and Rhodey ate at some random restaurant then went back where Rhodey locked Tony in his room, ordering him to sleep.
Aaaaaaaaaaaand done! I'm really bad at updating when I'm supposed to. Hehe. Well, it's midnight, so good night everyone! Or good morning. Good afternoon. Whatever. Bye!
